October 2014 Moms

Help calm my nerves. :(

I'm almost 19 weeks and I just had some spotting. It's brownish, but I'm still freaking out a bit. Calm me down and tell me this isn't that big of a deal and that you've spotted this far along before? I've had pinchy cramps but nothing extreme and I'm almost certain they're ute growing pains. :(

Re: Help calm my nerves. :(

  • No I haven't. I've actually been kind of a lazy blob today. I haven't over exerted myself in any way. I was on my feet for a while at work today but it was mainly standing in one place and not walking.

  • Sorry you are worried! I had brown blood daily for about a month up until week 16. My doc looked yesterday and said he still sees a little blood in the uterus but isn't worried. It always helps to just ask your doc though. My SIL OBGYN just speculated that my placenta was just very low and she was right. Best!

  • I'm sorry you're going through this. I had a bright red spot last week and I was freaking out. I called my nurse and she said not to worry, that a lot of women spot at least once and sometimes even later than this in pregnancy. I would tell you not to worry but if you are like me you will worry no matter what. I'm sure everything is fine, it is probably just baby growing and everything moving around in there, take it easy!

sending good thoughts your way.  it's hopefully nothing.  i spotted this far along (may have been a few weeks later) once with DD.  freaked me out!  to the point of crying at work so i know how it feels.  called the OB and nurse asked a few q's and told me it was probably nothing but to take it easy and be on the lookout for red blood like a period.  so i'll tell you, take it easy and call your OB's or insurance's afterhours nurse line if it will help you sleep tonight.  (((HUGS)))

  • I immediately ran to my bedroom and grabbed my doppler. Found baby's heartbeat and it sounds normal. I'm trying to think of something that may have caused it within the past few days. Being that its brown, old blood it could've been from a number of things. I did have a couple of BM's that I really had to strain for. I've heard in the past that this could possibly cause spotting. But other than that, I've not done anything overly physical for quite some time. :-<

I also don't have any advice but wanted to send hugs your way. Since it was brown blood, I would think it's nothing but a call to the OB might help you feel better.

  • First, I'm sorry you are going through this. As PP said, it's likely nothing. put your feet up and call your OB. Sending positive thoughts your way. :::hugs:::
  • As PP said call your OB and check with them. Brown spotting is old blood from somewhere (At least what I have been told and read) Sending prayers your way.

One question I have that might get some side eye looks. Have you and your SO/H had sex in the last few days? That can also cause bleeding.

Kick your feet up and relax for the night. Try and take some time just for you.

I hate hearing that you are stresses. So glad you heard lo on the doppler. Hope it is something your ob can explain and Fx that it goes away and doesn't come back!
  • I'm sorry to hear you are going through this. I would definitely call the after hours nurse line for some peace of mind.

  • Call your dr. Any sort of bleeding is cause to call your dr. It could be nothing but it's the dr's job to inform you on what to do.

  • (((Hugs))), @MrsSinner402‌!!! FX the spotting stops and stays away.

I had some spotting earlier this week and called in. They had me come to the office for a HB check and rhogam shot (joy of joys), and OB was confident that if the HB was strong and normal, all was well.

  • So glad you found the HB! Keep us updated. Has it stopped or slowed down? Also why would that sex comment from pp get a side eye?

It hasnt stoppes and I cant tell if it's slowed down really. The doppler can't always give me a reading of the bpm especially if I don't have a full bladder. I found it again this morning but didnt get a reading any higher than 140. Its usually around 140-150.

  • Just spoke to a nurse at the OBs office. She said the usual. As long as its not bright red and a large amount there's no need for concern. She said it's probably just old stuff "sluffing off" from inside. I knew all that. I was kinda hoping they'd tell me to come in for a heartbeat check or even bump up my a/s from Monday to today. But I guess I will just have to wait it out over the weekend. :-<

  • I'm a little late to the party but I hope you feel better today! I would also be losing my mind. I would take the nurses lack of urgency as a sign that you can relax a little about it. A good reason for a lazy mom's day weekend ;-)

I would just remind your OB when you go in for your a/s that you did have this over the weekend. That way they can double check everything.

So glad it has stopped! T & P for you and your LO.

  • Keeping you in my thoughts this weekend. Try and relax and take it easy. Monday will be here before you know it and you will see your LO.

Great advice. Try to take it easy and relax until Monday, I know it can't be easy, but I think everything's going to be ok. **HUGS**
