My belly is always cold to the touch

Hi I'm Thea this is my second little one, and this pregancy has been quiet different than my first. I am currently 18 weeks along and my belly area below my belly button is always icy cold, my midwife says its normal but it kind of freaks me out just curious if anyone else has had this similar experience, it has been this way since about 8 weeks?

I just lifted up my shirt to touch my belly and it's ice cold too. But I'm feeling hot today...like sauna hot. I would guess it's normal. :)

ETA: I have no idea if my tummy was warm or cold when I was pregnant with DS. :P That's not something I really paid attention to. Hehe

Yeah I notice its icy cold every time I touch it, I can be hot as heck and sweating to death and my tummy is cold, even when I sunbath its really odd.

  • It's likely that the superficial layers of skin you touch are cooled by a/c. The further your belly sticks out the further your skin is from your core, which is warmer. Cool skin means your body is doing a good job regulating its temperature. Just my hypothesis, lol.

  • I bet your baby is just a super-chill mellow sort of kiddo.

  • LOL mine is cold too!
  • Lol. This happened to me in my second pregnancy and my dr couldn't explain why but said it was nothing to worry about. Mine was a circle the size of a peach above my belly button.
