Vacation Plans??

We're currently living with my parents...and they just left for a 2 week vacation of Disney, St. Augustine and Savannah, Georgia. They are celebrating their 60th birthdays and 40th wedding anniversary. SO JEALOUS!!!! At least DH and I get to play house with DD in their empty house...it'll be a nice break.

But when they come back, my sister and I get to announce that we have planned a big family vacation for all of us (she's married with 2 daughters) and my parents to the Poconos in Pennsylvania (where they went on their honeymoon). SO EXCITED to tell them and for the vacation - I think it'll be a blast. Bummer news though...DH starts a new job on Monday and he doesn't think he gets PTO for the first year. POO. :-( I think we all have a great time though - by then, DD will be 1, and my nieces will be 2 and almost 4.

Do you have any vacation plans coming? We haven't been on a vacation since our honeymoon in 2011, so really looking forward to this - I just really hope DH can come for at least part of it.

All we've got planned so far is a couples-only beach retreat after LO turns 1 and I'm done pumping.

Family wise we'll be hitting the beach a lot this weekend but haven't made any actual vacation plans. We are however saving up for a big trip to Ecuador once LO turns 2. I do hope to have a real family vacation before that though!!!

Edit: DH and I have talked about a "staycation" and staying at a Disney resort for a few nights and visiting the parks.

Heading to FL tomorrow to visit FIL for a week but that's about all we've got. I'd like to take a family vacation to the beach here for a weekend over the summer but we'll see what our finances look like

We're going for a weekend family camping trip with my dad, his gf, my sister & her family in the White Mountains in August. And from there DH, J, and I are heading to Maine for a week at my family camp.

We're pumped!

Oh, I agree. LO and I went for a walk before daycare/work today and I just kept thinking how lucky we are to live here! It's a payoff for a sucky winter. haha.

And you and your sister @TrueBeliever925 should come visit this summer.

How far out on the Cape are you? I'm guessing Wrentham outlets are a long drive?

We're going to Maui in August. It was supposed to be my college graduation trip with te family last summer (even though I graduated in 2012) but for some reason no one thought I'd have fun in Hawaii 7 months pregnant. So we're going this summer with LO. He'll just have turned one. I'm really excited to take him. It will be me DH, LO my mom, dad. My brother, his girlfriend and her daughter. We're hoping for a a proposal

we know he's been saving for a ring but other than that bit of info we got out of him at Christmas he's been pretty to himsel about plans.

I love Wrentham! Haven't been in forever, but it is about 1.5 hours from me.
I used to live in Chatham, now we are in Osterville so we are much closer to the bridge.

We're heading to California at the end of July. We'll be visiting friends in the Santa Barbara area then driving down to San Diego, with a stop in LA, to see some more friends. I'm hoping to get together with @californiadreams87 while there. Dh and I haven't been on vacation together since August, 2012 right after my MC and back surgery. I was still all doped up on pain meds then. It will be nice to see our loved ones and get a way from all of the responsibilities at home. Although I am nervous about the logistics of flying with a baby. I know it's be discussed over and over but I'll probably have questions for everyone when it gets closer.

@TrueBeliever925‌ I'm on the north shore in Marblehead :-)

I haven't gone back to work yet, so no vacation this year since we need to continue to cut back on extras. At least we already live by the beach though, which is nice, not quite as nice as the cape though!

We'll probably do at least one day trip into Boston for a sox game, duck tour, aquarium visit, ect.

@Khaleesi07 How did I miss you were from Marblehead? IL's are from Beverly. I'm 90% sure we used to play Marblehead for field hockey in h.s. too.

I've never done a Boston duck tour. I've only done the boat tour in Gloucester.

We should seriously plan a day!

No big vacation this year but we are planning one after I graduate nursing school in two years. Possibly Disney (what DH wants) or Montego Bay to swim with dolphins (what I want). We will see

This year we are planning two small weekend trips. One to Kansas city in July and another to the Omaha Zoo sometime this summer.

Our last real vacation was Cape May for our wedding anniversary in 2011. We did a weekend trip to a Star Trek convention last April, but I don't think that really counts. Unfortunately, we have only day trips planned for the summer since DH is in school for his Masters, but we'd like to plan something for next summer after he graduates (and hopefully gets a job in administration).

We were going to go to Tahoe for a week around LO's birthday, but we have been bad with our spending for the last month or so, and renting a cabin is expensive. We may still go, but cut it down for a weekend instead of a whole week.

Summer vacations cant really happen for us until DH switches units at work, because right now he works every single weekend (12 pm to 10 pm)....

@nnikki10 I am jealous!! I love Disneyland! I LOVE walking down Main Street when you first enter and smelling all the deliciousness from the stores. Also, I am a complete nerd and love the chime they have when they scan your ticket at the gate.

Heading north of the border to Ontario to Lake of the Woods to a friends lake house. Taking LO.

Possibly--if we can--head to Australia 2015. My sister is moving there for 2 years for work. I think that's where our next tax return will be saved for.

Still trying to talk DH into taking M camping w us. Maybe the days after memorial weekend. Sites shouldn't be packed after the weekend.

Yes we should! I've never actually been on a duck tour either, but I think DD would like it, so might as well give it a try.

I was on the Boston duck tour once...right behind Clint Eastwood's boat! I'm down for Boston anytime...I'll be tehre in 1.5 hours! LOL

We planning a few Disney weekends as well. Also going to do a universal weekend when Harry Potter opens. Gotta love living in Orlando. We also driving to Nj in August for LO birthday and baptism

@Khaleesi07‌ I lived in Marblehead for years! Actually still own a condo there. I love that town!

@Cosmic+Love‌, @TrueBeliever925‌, @ludali‌ & other New Englanders- would love a meet-up. Keep me in the loop- I live on cape as well.

Also MH does not allow travel over the bridge during the summer unless absolutely necessary. No plans for a vacation away, just another beautiful summer on Cape Cod.

We drove from here (Oklahoma) to there right before TTC. It was our last big trip. We went to Denver then up North, then over to Salt Lake City, We stayed at Lake Powell and the Grand Canyon on our way back. I LOVED Jackson Hole and hope to go back soon. Hiking there is just breathtaking.

We are headed to Gulf Shores, AL next month. Driving LO will be interesting but he does pretty good in the car now. I know I am going to hate wearing a swim suit but just relaxing sounds so good to me.

We leave in about three weeks for a road trip to Williamsburg... with a long weekend in Chantilly, VA on the way down and Baltimore on the way back.

Forth of July weekend we're going to Maine to visit friends.

In August we're going camping for the better part of a week for Pirate's Week up in Alexandria Bay, NY. (In the Thousand Islands.)

We're in Ontario but I'm from Nova Scotia, we're taking a road trip to my parent's place this July and I'm so excited. I've never done the drive, I've always flown. It's 24hrs of driving so it should be interesting with an 8 yr old, a 6 yr old and an almost 1 yr old. We're also having LO baptized at my former church while we're there and celebrating her birthday with my family.
