AW: My little acrobat...

So, I decided I felt like this warranted an AW post - thanks in advance for indulging me! I went to the OB today, and guess what?!?! Baby is breech again!!! Remember how I said in my TTT yesterday that I was uncomfy and it felt reminiscent of the day baby flipped to be head down? Well, turns out my discomfort yesterday was spot on. Sooooo, now I have a c-section scheduled for June 2nd, but my doctor is going to try to see if she can get it moved up to the last week in May. In other news I am not dilated at all yet, but I am "thinned out" - which apparently could be a result of all the recent acrobatics and associated pressure. Otherwise everything looks good, so I am thankful for that. I am just a little on edge in terms of mentally preparing for what kind of birth I am going to have. I know whatever is meant to be will be, and I just have to make peace with that... I go back to the OB on Monday (that's the only day she is in next week), and we will do another scan to confirm if she is still breech... Anyway, just felt like sharing that little tidbit and not waiting for the next check-in on Monday... And the saga continues HAHA :)

Thanks everyone! I know this is a small potatoes kind of problem in the grand scheme of things, so I am keeping it in perspective. At this point I feel no assurance that she won't keep flipping right up until delivery. I am just struggling with not being able to mentally prepare for one delivery option over the other. I just want to know for sure what we are headed towards either way - but alas, it will all work out. She is just keeping us on our toes already!

  • What a little squirm worm! I can imagine its unsettling not knowing what to expect. I guess something to keep in mind that even if she flips back you still have no idea what your labor will look like. My child birth class was geared towards women who wanted unmedicated deliveries, but we spent a lot if time processing how we would handle a delivery that included pitocin, epidural, c-section, etc, because there is so much that outside our control. Either way I am super excited for you that you will be holding your precious baby in your arms very soon! Thinking about you as you are in the home stretch!!!

Here's hoping she flips again.  And just remember that if you desiring a vaginal birth, there are things that can be done to try to encourage her to move to head-down again.  Everything comes with varying levels of discomfort, but it's about what you prioritize as the most important things for YOU, and then doing whatever you can to make that happen.

If you decide that being able to prepare for a c-section is most important to you, feel free to PM me.  I might have a few suggestions.
