Diaper changes

How is your LO when you change his/her diaper?  Anymore, DS screams like a maniac, we recently stayed at a hotel and when we came out of the room, the maids were staring at us.  I can only imagine what they were thinking.

Why do diaper changes have to be so difficult?  It usually takes 2 of us to change the diaper anymore.  I was thinking about trying pull-ups seems like an easy fix for wet diapers, just pull them off and slide a new one up.

All advise is welcome! We just don't know what to do anymore, it's exhausting to change a diaper

Re: Diaper changes

  • Wesley freaks out at diaper changes, I am thinking of trying these on him. They are the Huggies Little movers slip on diapers.

His daycare teacher told me about them, she says they are like the pull ups but more absorbant. I haven't tried them yet though.

DUDES.  Pullups or those huggies slip ons are the way to go, 100%.  They are freaking amazing.  Pullups actually hold a lot of pee, too.  The one time she did diarrhea in her pullup, it leaked.  But honestly, not as much as I expected it to.  So that is definitely an option!  And the slip on diapers are just as freaking awesome, and they held in her runny poo really well.  (which was a surprise given how often she peed right out of regular huggies as a tiny squish!)

Stand up diaper changes are a freaking godsend.  Truth.

Thanks girls, I think we'll try pull up diapers. It can't hurt and anything is better than what we go through now

I offer a choice - change diaper on floor or change table - and that usually makes him happier.

  • Ds is usually not happy with diaper change, but most of the time I can get away with singing silly songs, kissing his feet, or letting him hold a book. Distraction seems to work. Knock on wood.

Alexis is so mixed, but usually she fights it. Some days she is fine until you go to put the diaper on her. On those times she usually wants to sit on the potty. She likes sitting on the potty, but rarely does anything. For some reason she likes to brush her teeth while sitting on the potty. Every time she sits on the potty she starts reaching for her toothbrush.

  • it's sometimes ok, usually a wrestling match.
We don't have a potty yet.

  • She mostly fights for diaper changes it is quite the wrestling match. I did buy a potty ring to pit on top of the regular toilet seat to see how that would go. I put her on it and she screamed bloody murder like I was trying to flush her down the toilet...I can see we are going to have a blast when we start. I might put it off another ohhh year or so.. to save myself the headaches.

  • I change the diaper where ever we are. I have them stashed all around the house. I just hand him something while we do it and he is fine. Singing also works well.

We''re all about the choices in our house these days. Otherwise it'd be a huge fight every time.

"G do you want to change your diaper in your room or the bathroom? Do you want the red diaper or the panda one (we CD)? Do you want to play with your phone or the rattle while we change your diaper?" Afterwards I let him help put the wet diaper in the diaper pail.
