  I didn't eat before a routine NST appointment last week. And of course that was the day they saw a heart rate decel they didn't like during a contraction. So they sent me off to L&D and I ended up eating a hospital meal in the bed.
  
  FWIW, they did also tell me that eating before the NST lowers your chances of extended monitoring because baby is more awake. Good luck today!
  
  ETA: Forgot to say that if you are hungry in L&D, let them know, especially if you haven't eaten for a long while. They may feed you, my nurse was happy to.

  Update: They won't let me eat now because doctor wants to induce me. She says his heart rate is too irregular. This is not what I was expecting!!! Eek

  Oh no! I hope everything goes smoothly. Can you sneak snacks in the bathroom? Maybe something light? This is what I did with ds1 and it turned out to be a good thing I did because otherwise I would have been about 24 hours without nutrition.

  IF DX: DOR & Fragile X pre-mutation carrier
  2011: FSH 13.3 & E 99; AMH 0.54 2nd FSH 6.2 E 40's AFC: 8
  BFP from Clomid/IUI ~ Pre-e and IUGR during pregnancy ~ DS born 9/4/12
  Feb./March 2013: AMH less than 0.16 (undectable) and AFC = 4;
  BFP from supps ~ DS#2 due May 2014

  1st BFP-8/17/12!  Missed Miscarriage discovered @ 8 week US.  D&C.
  2nd BFP-2/13/13!  Blighted Ovum discovered @ 8 week US. Natural miscarriage.
  3rd BFP-5/22/13!  By early June, progesterone plummeting.  Another loss.
  August 2013 - started Donor Egg process, but surprise BFP with my own eggs.

  Good luck. (And my unsolicited advice - do not sneak snacks. They don't want you to eat for a reason. If something should change and you have to have a c/s, it's best to have an empty tummy).

  At 3-4 cm now and thinning pretty well. Doc will break my waters in the morning to help progress labor. Baby sounds good and is moving normally. The epidural helped me get a few small waves of sleep - best sleep I've had in months!
