Went to doc at 9:00 for check up. She thought baby's heart rate was a little high so monitored me for 30 minutes. At some point, I had a contraction and didn't even feel it. She decided to send me in for extended monitoring in L&D, so here I am 3 hours later. Still waiting on an update. Cramps and backache have kicked in in the last 30 minutes, but can't tell if it's contractions or just discomfort from laying on the left side for too long (common for me these last few months).
Note to self: Eat a full meal before checking into L&D next time. I am starving!
Re: WTF Surprise L&D Visit
FWIW, they did also tell me that eating before the NST lowers your chances of extended monitoring because baby is more awake. Good luck today!
ETA: Forgot to say that if you are hungry in L&D, let them know, especially if you haven't eaten for a long while. They may feed you, my nurse was happy to.

Good luck. (And my unsolicited advice - do not sneak snacks. They don't want you to eat for a reason. If something should change and you have to have a c/s, it's best to have an empty tummy).
I hope it all goes smoothly!! Can't wait for updates.
