Lurker here with a quick question For those of you taking 17p injections: are you also on bed rest? I am 30 weeks 2 days. Been on 17p since 17 weeks (history of a 33 wheeler and 34.5 weeker). Ultrasound at 30 weeks shows baby head down and against cervix. I haven't done the 17 p shots before so I have no clue if it's normal to still be having so many contractions? They are never in a pattern. My work is very concerned (healthcare field) and keep asking why I'm not on bedrest. Would love to hear any others experiences. Thanks!
Re: Question for 17p ladies
You will want to ask your doctor what an acceptable number of contractions is- I had braxton hicks frequently but no real contractions until my water broke at 36+4.

Cerclage, P17, and 3 months of bed rest brought us our Rainbow.
Dum spiro, spero.
I'm currently 24 weeks and had 29 weekers. High risk dr still wanted me on shots because I had bleeding d/t low progesterone into 2nd trimester this time. My water broke in my 28th week last time. Since beginning of second trimester I would get alot of braxton hicks with activity. Make sure you are drinking enough water. My ob says she's not concerned unless my contractions are regular measureable or bloody show etc. involved. Wish you best of luck. I'm also in health field and people that are unaware of the medication always surprised I'm not on bedrest as well. Best of luck to you!
I was on the p17 shots from weeks 17-35. I was never placed on bedrest because there was no need. The doctor monitored my cervix to make sure it didn't shorten early. It was discovered that I was dilated at 33w, so I had an fFn. It came back negative, so I avoided bed rest.
If your doctor doesn't think you need it, then that's a good thing!
