Lactation Milk Shake

Ingredients:

3/4c steal cut oats
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 Cup milk
1 Teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup Ice cream
1 Tablespoon Brewers Yeast
1 Banana

Blend all ingredients together.

Mommy tip of the week: Keeping one baby entertained at the doctors office is hard enough, let alone 2. I bring in a small ziplock bag a few crayons and stickers and let my kiddos decorate the exam table paper! The twins are still too small to assist older brother but is keeps him occupied and they love to watch him have fun!

Re: **BF & Pre-BF Check In**

  • 1. Just about 6 months ( on the 13th)

2.we made it to our first long term goal! And now short term I have set for 8 months long term 1 year or longer

3.we have been doing good this week :)

    4. EBF (yay!)

    5. Nope :)

    6. The days are long but the months are short. Just don't give up I a bad day. The first 3 months are the hardest but once you pass that it gets easier. And don't compare yourself to anyone else. There was a twin mom who was pumping 10 oz at a time in my local mommy and me group where as I could only get 1-3 at a time. The stress effected supply but once I saw my boys gaining I knew I was doing ok :)

  • @kdarden15 You are doing great! The cluster feeds are rough but if you can make it through them you can make it through anything! Mine cluster feed on and off until about 3 months but once we got passed it life became so much easier. As for the shield take your time weening off especially during this part. Once your supply is established and you know your out of the cluster feeding woods thats when I would take the time to work on latch without the shield. I dont have any advice about thrush but when I got it with my first I used coconut oil on myself  and went bra less to keep myself dry and we both got the medication for it. Are they treating all 3 of you at the same time? You are just about done with the hardest part!! Keep up the great work mama!!

This was exactly what I needed. I actually got choked up reading it! Thank you much for the encouragement. I know that we are doing great, and I am thankful that I can BF them both, but man, it can be exhausting!!! I also appreciate what you are saying about the shields. I feel pressure to get off of them, but these cluster feeds just dani my motivation. They are treating all of us. I thought we had kicked it, but it came back. I'm trying to really sterilize everything, but the thrush is just hanging on. Thanks again--I really needed that pick me up today.
