Trouble TTC

Intro

Hi ladies. I've been lurking here on and off for several months so I figured I'd intro. DH and I have been TTC for about 8 months on our own. During that time I started tracking, but since my periods are completely erratic, I only ovulated twice in that time. We went to an RE back in december to see if we could figure out what was wrong. After some tests I'm not totally sure what the problem is. basically they said they think its possibly very mild PCOS. We had two failed attempts on clomid which i was unresponsive to and two failed attempts on femara and ovidrel with timed intercourse. We also had an Hsg done during our last round and my tubes are clean. We moved to IUI this month and I'm currently 5DPO, and for some reason this TWW is driving me nuts this time. It might have something to do with my doctor telling me that she's sure I'll get my BFP this time which i did not appreciate! she said the same thing to me two months ago when we hit the window before finding out that I had five good follicles and ended up ovulating on my own a day later. I have a hard enough time trying to keep my hopes under control without the help of my doctor saying she's Sure it'll work when there's no guaranty. But I do have to say, I am so grateful to my wonderful hubby who's been so supportive and great through all of this

Re: Intro

  • we 'tried' on our own for 8 months, but since I only ovulated twice there wasn't much opportunity to really try. So with medication its been a total of about 14 months
  • Welcome! I'm sorry your doctor said that, she really can't predict the future so she should stop making those promises! One on hand it's great that she feels so strongly that it will work but on the other hand it makes it hard not to get your hopes up. In any event, I really hope you get that bfp soon! Good luck to you

  • Welcome! Sorry you've had to deal with all that. :(
Very frustrating thing for your doc to say to you...do you think if you mentioned that it made the TWW harder, she might not say it again?
Then again, here's hoping that there is no next time...hoping for the best this cycle! :)

I did try to explain that to her but she said "we'll it's good to keep your hopes up" she really didn't mean it to be argumentative but I still would've just preferred her to say "oops my bad" or something. Oh well. Thanks for the well wishes and good luck to you too!
