DS is playing soccer and we were responsible for end of game snacks...I packed a few extras for my DD. Two of the older siblings of one kid came over, without asking, and BEFORE all the team members even got their snacks and grabbed some.
Thankfully there were enough for the team members, but DD started bawling because she knew there was supposed to be one for her and somebody took it.
I didn't want to start something with the family since we still have half a season left to deal with these people, but I wanted to tell the kids to back off. Those snacks are for the team, NOT YOU.
Is it just me? I thought they were completely rude!
Re: Vent: they're not yours!
And no, DD (who is three) knows that she normally doesn't get one. Those are snacks for the kids on the team.
Maybe I was just getting pissy last game because it was already past 7, I'd spent an hour reminding her to not touch the ball with her hands, the baby was starting to melt down, mosquitoes showed up in full force, and then here comes the family with the cooler full of fruit and fruit-flavoured beverages. And the coach was all "hey everyone sign up for a snack day!"
