I'm an FTM with a 4 day old and obviously I'm worried about everything she does/doesn't do. My concern at the moment is that she's been very sedate since we got her home. She rarely cried and sleeps most of the time - even at night. Last night she got us up twice to feed (on time) and once to change. The rest of the time she just sleeps.
She's formula feeding (I can't BF) and is increasing the amount she takes herself slightly with each feed, which is every 3-4 hours. Thing is she rarely prompts us as to when she's hungry and also when she's wet. She just seems to sit in it until we check her. Her meconium has all passed so now were just getting the odd smear when she's wet but I feel like she doesn't need changing enough. We probably changed her 5-6 times in the last 24 hours.
She seems pretty content and is alert/interactive when she is awake. I just wondered if it was normal for a newborn to be so chilled. She has a slight touch of jaundice but not enough to take any action on according to the midwife.
Any input is appreciated!
