Things are pretty good my way. I think H is back on track, and though he hasn't called for therapy yet, he has acknowledged his lack of effort and the serious need for him to get his issues resolved. I think this is in part due to his new SSRI medication starting to come up to therapeutic levels. His desire to get help is back. I have also started officially in my new position as the farmers market manager for Breakaway Farms, and I am SO happy! I still have my other job, and will stay there for the forseable future, but I have finally broken into the field I want to be in! YAY!
Milestones: Meh, nothing of note.
Challenges: A cold and an ear infection have been wreaking havoc on our lives since last week. He was starting to feel better Sunday when he fell and face planted on the kitchen floor Sunday and really smashed his poor little nose and lip. ( It took till this morning for the swelling to start to go down (I almost thought his nose was broken) and it is seriously black and blue.
Funny/ Cute Stories: Whenever I leave without Ben (to go to work, etc) I tell him I love him and wave bye and blow him a kiss. He is now blowing kisses back, and also doing it randomly to people. He only uses one finger, and sticks it in his mouth, then pulls it out and makes the kissy sound "muah" but will do it like 3 times in a row. It is SO adorable!
QOTW- I was blessed with the opportunity to travel quite a bit as a child. I spent many summers with my grandparents in Switzerland, and they would in turn take me to different countries in Europe for little trips. I know Ben won't get to travel as extensively as I did, but I really hope he has the opportunity to spend time with our family in Europe like I did.
How are you doing? Wonderful! Things are going so well, it's hard to believe sometimes!
Milestones? First zoo trip this past weekend. She liked it, but she really just wanted to walk around and pick up leaves from the ground. She would point and laugh at the sea lions, but most of the other animals were being boring and sleeping.
Challenges? I really can't think of anything besides the regular toddler stuff. Oh, she has started smacking her hand on top of her head at night. I don't know if she's trying to keep herself awake or what, but I have to ask daycare. Last time she was doing strange hand gestures, it turns out it was part of a song they sing with hand motions.
Also we have an appointment with the Neurologist in 2 weeks to address her possible nerve damage on one side of her face. Honestly though, I've noticed it less and less, and I'm hoping they just say nothing's wrong and let us go on our way.
Cute/ funny stories? I've told you ladies about her sense of humor, and she's definitely expressing it more and more. Lately she's been actually holding her hand over her mouth and she laughs really loud and bends forward, like something was just too funny to her. It cracks us up. This past weekend, we took her to buy a puddle jumper floatie and we tried it on in the store. It was too funny to see her in it, and we immediately started laughing. She also started laughing but couldn't put her hand to her mouth because the floatie was so big and that would make us laugh more which made her laugh more. It was a riot!
QOTW- What experience(s) from your childhood are you most excited for your LO to experience? Well, nothing and everything. DH and I both had single mom's and that was always tough emotionally and financially. DH and I both seem to really be on the same page about giving her everything we didn't have. We've bought season passes for the children's museum, the water park, and the zoo. We're determined to give her some awesome memories of all of us out as a family enjoying time together.

@mrsjessicamitchell - Congrats on the job and so glad things are better with your H - also I can totally relate with the fall as Alexandra has now gotten black eyes two weeks in a row from falling into things. Ugh!
Milestones - She drank water from a water bottle. She got much of it all over her, but she is really understanding how it works. She also finally ate something from our meal (shredded chicken) rather than turning her nose up at it. She then ate some of my string cheese too. She mostly still wants purees or will eat the Gerber fruit strips/cookies/puffs.
Challenges - She takes after me in being a night person and does not want to go to bed early. She is wide awake until after 9 which is a problem because mommy and daddy get up at 5:15 and we want our sleep. Her constipation is much better since switching to almond milk.
Funny/Cute Stories - Miss A is a huge flirt - every time we go out to eat she "makes friends" with every one around us. Some times she event tries to offer them her food.
QOTW - That is such a tough question. I spent a lot of time swimming and loved it. I hope she gets involved in competitive swim too. She loves the water.

Milestones: words are exploding out of his mouth it seems!
Challenges: sleeping, sleeping and sleeping. same old news around here. He has 2 great nights and I feel like we're finally maybe making some progress and we've had 4 awful nights. I think he is cutting his bottom molars (I can see some white) and he's getting a cold so I know that's part of it.
Funny Stories: When he see's a picture of himself he yells "It's you!" I guess from all the times that we would say that to him. Or if there is a family picture he goes, mama, dada and it's you! It's pretty cute. He also insists on helping DH fix everything. Even if they aren't fixing something, he lays down on his belly and looks up underneath things, grabs his tool box and starts fixing it. It's cute.
QOTW: I can't wait to bring him regularly to my parent's cabin. I loved my summers growing up there and have great memories. I also am just really excited about him growing up with his cousins. My older and younger sister both have girls and he is 7 months apart from each so they are all really close. DH's brother and wife have 4 girls ages 1-6 so I know he'll have lots of fun with them too.
I enjoyed growing up with my 3 sisters as well, so we are hoping/trying to have another but so far no luck. I was too scared to try early because I didn't want them really close, but now regretting it as they probably will be closer to 3 years apart. Oh well- that's life and we'll take one whenever we can!
