Weeks/Fruit: Week 39/Watermelon (seriously?!)

Symptoms: Lots of cramping and lower back pain and I think I may have experienced some contractions on Monday night. Heartburn is still a bitch. I finally experienced the joys of swelling yesterday, but my rings still fit!

Rants/Raves: Rant 1: Why is this baby not here?! Rant 2: I wish people would stop asking me 1) When are you due? 2) Are you excited? 3) Still pregnant? 4) What do you mean you don't know the sex? Rave 1: My DH bought my 2 six packs of my favorite beer (seasonal ale) and I can't wait to pop that top! Rave 2: We cleaned the house top to bottom last weekend, finished the nursery, and installed the car seat - we are ready!

Appointments/Updates: My 38 week appointment showed baby head down and ready to go - 1 cm dilated. 39 week appointment is on Friday - hoping for good news. Either way I will be doing a membrane sweep.

GTYK: What time of delivery do you have (planned)? Drugs/no drugs? Who will be in the room with you? Vaginal delivery if all goes well. I plan on having an unmedicated birth, but I won't feel guilty for taking the epi if I need it. Only DH allowed in the room.

Weeks/Fruit: 39wks watermelon

Symptoms: swelling, heartburn, BH, back pain, and some lower pelvic cramping

Rants/Raves: I want this baby out, I wanna meet our little girl or boy!!!!

Appointments/Updates: I have my 39wk appt on Friday. I'm hoping my body made some progress, because my 38wk appt showed nothing!

GTYK: What time of delivery do you have (planned)? Drugs/no drugs? Who will be in the room with you?: I'm hoping for a vaginal delivery, I would like drugs, and it's just going to be me and MH, and well of course the docs and nurses.

Weeks/Fruit: 37 weeks, a "winter melon" whatever that is.

Symptoms: LOTS of swelling. Some contractions here and there.

Rants/Raves: Rants: The swelling really is my main complaint. It's my calves, ankles, feet and fingers. Add to that how HOT it has been here lately and it just makes me blow up like a balloon. I am tired of working. I am miserable sitting at my desk all day with no way to prop my feet up and I don't feel like dressing professionally at this point. Raves: I guess Mother's Day weekend, I'm excited to celebrate and spend the weekend with my family. Oh and my boss is going out of town for the next week and a half, so I can actually wear flip flops to work since they are about the only shoes that fit anymore.

Appointments/Updates: I'll have my regular weekly appt tomorrow afternoon. I had my GBS swab done last Wednesday and never got a phone call so I am assuming that was negative. They checked me last week and I was 1cm and 50% effaced and I don't think they do another check until 38 or 39 weeks.

GTYK: What time of delivery do you have (planned)? Drugs/no drugs? Who will be in the room with you? I just want a vaginal delivery and I want an epidural. That's all I really care about. I was induced with DS1 but I did get my epidural and he was born vaginally, so ideally I'd like things to go similarly this time. I know DH will be in the room with me but I think I might ask my mom to come in this time as well.

Weeks/Fruit: 39 weeks, watermelon

Symptoms: Tired, heartburn, cramping, and I think I am having my first contractions today...am hoping it will actually lead to something!

Rants/Raves: DH hurt his back again working out. I have told him that since it has been bothering him, he needs to go to the doctor, but he won't ever listen! So then we had to go to the Baylor emergency room center near our house and $350 later and they still told him he needed to go see a doctor. He should've listened to me!

Appointments/Updates: I had my weekly appt yesterday and was 80% effaced and 1.5 cm. That is up only .5 cm from last week grrr.

GTYK: What time of delivery do you have (planned)? Drugs/no drugs? Who will be in the room with you? I want to try and hold out on the epidural as long as possible, but definitely think I want it. DH and possibly my mom will be in the room with me.

Weeks/Fruit: 38 weeks, the great pumpkin

Symptoms: Exhausted. Grumpy. Uncomfortable. I've been cramping for a few weeks now, and had a contraction in the middle of the night a couple of nights ago that was more than BH. Since then, not so much.

Rants/Raves: DH stole my tortilla chips this morning and left me with the crumbs of the "healthy" chips. I know I've said this before, but I can definitely say it again. I completely 100% over work. I do not want to get up and go in public anymore.

Appointments/Updates: Had my 37wk appt on Monday. First cervical check which made me spot the rest of the day through yesterday. No progress. Was told to start having eviction sex aka "turkey baster" as DH and I call it, and we have both been too tired to do it. Nipple stimulation it is.

GTYK: What time of delivery do you have (planned)? Drugs/no drugs? Who will be in the room with you? Ugh, I keep going back and forth and can't make up my mind. Ideally, I'd like to labor naturally as much as possible (says practically every woman) but I'm so fed up at this point, I don't care. I don't want anyone besides DH with me. I don't trust other people to not stress me out.

Symptoms: cramping and lots of bh sometimes

Rants/Raves: I am hoping he makes it at least a few more weeks but I'm glad that he's at least early term now.

Appointments/Updates: Appointment tomorrow, nothing exciting just normal stuff.

GTYK: What time of delivery do you have (planned)? Drugs/no drugs? Who will be in the room with you? Preferably no drugs, I will have an epi if things get super uncomfortable. I was induced with DD and won't be this time so I'm hoping it'll be a little less painful.

Weeks/Fruit: 39wks/watermelon

Symptoms: General discomfort! Pressure down low, swollen feet, exhaustion, arms going numb when I try to sleep. Ugh.

Rants/Raves:
RANT- DH wouldn't help with acupressure b/c he'd rather have an extra day of sleep. lame!
RAVE - we are getting a cleaning service to come in and clean our floors and bathrooms. Yay!

Appointments/Updates: had my weekly check up yesterday and got my membranes swept. Nothing happening yet :-(

GTYK:
What time of delivery do you have (planned)? Really hoping for a VBAC, but have a backup c/s scheduled for the 20th.
Drugs/no drugs? No drugs unless we go to c/s.
Who will be in the room with you? Just DH

Weeks/Fruit: Today would be 40 weeks, but baby was born last week at 39w, 1d.

Symptoms: So glad to be recovering! No more pregnancy symptoms, but starting to feel a little PP emotional.

Rants/Raves:
Rants: I have an AWFUL rash that seems to be a reaction to one of my pain meds. Off the med and hoping it will clear up soon. Baby also had some trouble latching at the beginning, so that has resulted in some major pain when he initially latches for nursing until everything heals up. Thankfully he seems to have the hang of it now.
Raves: So glad that everything went ok and we have healthy baby boy!

Appointments/Updates: Baby has his one week appointment
tomorrow!

I had a repeat Cesarean. I was not given the option of a VBAC due to
past history. DH was with me and I was able to hold and nurse baby
right away in recovery.

Weeks/Fruit:
39 weeks, watermelon!!

Symptoms:
Acid reflux, it is bad when I forget to take my zantac, still swelling in hands and feet, lots of cramping, right fingers sometimes get tingly.

Rants/Raves:
Rants: I hate going to work right now, it is hard and I am so ready to be on break. But I am also freaking out about everything I have not gotten done there before I go on leave.
Raves: I got to go for a mani/pedi last night, it was awesome. My Mom is here! She is visiting from MA and will be here the next three weeks to help out!

Appointments/Updates: 39 week appointment today, I am now dilated to 2 cm, which is progress from the 1 cm I was at last week. BP was a bit high but not too concerning, just have to watch for other symptoms. I also got prescribed a wrist brace for my right arm since I have been getting tingly sensations in my fingers. She swept my membranes today since I have not really had any contractions I can feel. Found out they will let me go until 42 weeks, really hoping he comes before then though!

GTYK: What time of delivery do you have (planned)? Drugs/no drugs? Who will be in the room with you? I would like to go without drugs if I can. I am not going to beat myself up if I can't but I would like to. I don't know if I will be able to hold out if I get induced since I have heard how bad it is with pitocin. DH will definitely be in the room with me, possibly my mother but I have not decided that yet and probably won't until the time comes.
