Mom's CT showed an obstruction in her small intestine. She was admitted late this evening for treatment. If the treatment doesn't work, she'll have to have surgery.
For those of you who don't know, my mom is a survivor of stage 4 rectal cancer, and necrotizing fasciitis (flesh-eating bacteria) secondary to the cancer. She has rheumatoid arthritis and graves disease. And she is my rock...she is how I do what I do. She is the single most amazing woman I have ever met in my entire life.
The ER where she was this evening is where my dad was taken after his massive heart attack in January. It's the same ER where Joshie went after his collapsed lung at 11 days, and the very same place where mom went when she was diagnosed with the cancer/flesh-eating-bacteria. It is incredibly difficult for me to go there, as I have so many difficult memories of the place. My brain leaps to the worst possible outcome, especially since I feel like I just lost dad.
Thank you all so very much for your prayers -- you're just the best. You have no idea how much your support means.

Oh my gosh, I am so late and so sorry you're going through
this. I hear you on the hospital hatred and fear, and the
ways you love and need your mom with you, and I'm
sending you and yours all the love and good thoughts and
prayers I have. LMK if I should steal the prius from DH
and head out there with real life hugs (srsly).
