So I've been thinking about buying skirts and dresses for work, it's seems to be that sort of place, though slacks are perfectly fine. Anyway, I was doing a search and found this website and found this dress, what do you guys think? Like it, hate it, worth the price??? I do hate the fact that it's considered 1X, I am a size 14, but I never considered that to be in the 1X category.
I agree that 14 is not 1x, (also don't think of 14 as plus, but average)...Anyway, I love it. I agree that it would be too short for me for work, but I think that's my preference, not dress code. The style and print is super cute.
I think it's cute but for me, I'd be wary of buying it online. Given how form-fitting it appears to be, I'd want to try it on. Personally, I would probably look like a lumpy mess under that jersey knit unless I was spanxed within an inch of my life.
This wouldn't be appropriate in my office, it's more of an after hours night out type look IMO. Also that fabric doesn't look very flattering to any sort of panty line...
So the consensus is, cute, but not appropriate for work. SO I'm going to go shopping for more work appropriate dresses, BUT I'm also going to get it, ONLY so that I have an excuse to have a girls night out.
There's a chance that the high-waisted belt along with the tightness of the skirt piece could be very unflattering. I'd personally never be able to pull off a high-waisted belt unless the skirt was more flowy.

I probably *could*, but steel toes don't really go with them eh?
Ya, I'm thinking in that case jeans are the best route. Unless....... Um I have no idea where I'm going with that train of thought. LOl
The funny thing is I was originally looking for a blouson style dress, because they are flattering, and I can get them longer, but I guess they are no longer popular.
Re: Dress opinions wanted
I think it's very cute. Don't worry about the size-- this looks like a junior-y line. In women's, most manufacturers consider 14 a L.
It does look a bit short in the pic, but I am assuming that model is at least 5'10".
Have you shopped at Torrid ever? I think they start at a 12 and they have a lot of cute dresses that are of similar style.

I have good luck at New York and Company for work dresses. They have some good sales and their dresses are usually a good length for me.
