Hi ladies ! I have been a bit " quiet "
The past few month . DD just keeps me very busy , so I was not really socialising lately. Plus I have more kids . But I wanna get back to "normal" now that she is nearly 4 month old. Anyway DD still wakes up at night for feeds. Up to 3x. I am very exhausted. She is also a bit skinny. That's why I tried to introduce formula before bed time. I am only Breastfeeding so far. But DD refuses to take it. DH tried to give her the bottle ... But nothing . Not a chance . We have tried now for a week. Any ideas what else we can do to convince her ??
Re: Refusing formula
If you have been giving her bottles of expressed breast milk, I'd probably try adding a little bit of formula to that rather than just straight up giving formula. As she gets used to it, you could increase the amount of formula and decrease the amount of breast milk gradually.
The other thing to consider is the fact that being exclusively breast fed does not necessarily mean a baby won't sleep through the night. And conversely, formula won't guarantee more sleep. It might work, sure, but there is also the possibility that she just really still needs those MOTN feedings. Or isn't a good sleeper yet. My EBF son started sleeping through the night at 6.5 weeks. My SIL's son is 2+ months and FF and only sleeps in 3-4 hour stretches at most. Every baby is different and it's a bit of a crapshoot.
Yes yes I know ... No guarantee with those little ones !! Let's see what happens next. Will keep ya posted
