RMA NJ - NexGen Study

Hi ladies.  I posted on to TTTC boards last year, but have just been lurking around on this board and the TTTC board for the past few months.  I have been going to RMA NJ in Englewood for IUIs since last Fall. I just completed my 4th IUI cycle without a successful pregnancy are our RE is now recommending that we move on to IVF.  DH and I are both ready to move on, just worried about the costs since we do not have coverage for IVF.  Our RE suggested that we try to get into the NexGen study and we have an appointment to discuss this with her in more detail next week.  I'm just curious if anyone on here has participated in this study and wondering what it entails to qualify?   Did you have to have special testing done?  How long did it take for you to start cycling? Any info you can share is helpful - thanks!

I participated in the next gen study. The process moved very fast since I had already completed all testing/blood work with RMA when I first started with them in August 2013. I was accepted in January. Started stimming the end of the month, had retrieval on Feb 2nd(13 retrieved). Did my transfer next cycle on March 7th. (We only had 1 embryo make it to day 5, so we only transferred 1)

    BFP WARNING.....

    I am currently 11 weeks pregnant. :)
Good luck with the study! Any questions let me know....

  • Thanks for the info ladies.  Those are good stats and I am excited to talk to the Dr. Monday:)  Happy to hear that the process was pretty quick.  We've had all the genetic blood work done when we started IUIs and then even had karyotyping done back in January and all came out clear, so hoping we can jump right into things. H&H 9 months to you guys!

  • I participated in the study. Had retrieval in April. 12 retrieved...2 made it to day 6...I ended up being in the active test group... both were no good. When my doc called to advise that the eggs were no good and we wouldn't be moving get forward with putting green them back, she was pretty matter of fact...stone cold...didn't feel too good when I got off the phone with her. Following get that call the follow up was non existent....had to call the nurse to find out how long it would be before I go my period. Nurse cared more then the doc..in my opinion. I have no if coverage for infertility so everything would be out of pocket if I wanted to try again....seemed like the group (CT location) only cared about the money. Needless to say, I've had to move on..paying out of pocket is not an option. Good luck to you..don't let it take over your life. Everything happens 9th doesn't happen) forReason.
