MI Federal and State background checks

We are in Indiana, but my stepchildren live in MI most of the time. They are over 18 so they have to be fingerprinted for state and federal background checks. Does anyone know of a site that lists locations in MI to have these done? Or can tell me of somewhere close to Grand Rapids?

Does it just have to be regular prints? Here, they only use a certain fingerprinting agency at specific locations. We can't just go anywhere. Cabela's does them if you have one.

We had to go to a police station to get this done. We just went to our county's police station and they did it for free (the city station charges $10).

I'm in Mississippi.. but I'm pretty sure any police station would do it... We had to go there to get the city and county background checks anyway (We had to do federal, state, city, & county background checks.. only needed fingerprints for the federal one). Try calling them.

Our state requires fingerprinting for both state and federal checks. We could no longer go to the police station here... but every state is different. They are trying to just do regular background checks to see if they suffice. Thanks everyone.

We're in MI, and fingerprinting is required for fostering and adopting. We had ours done at a UPS store. You can ways call one in the GR area and if they don't do it at that specific UPS, they should be able to direct you to one that does. GL!
