Update on my DS
Just wanted to say thank you again for all of the positive vibes, hugs, and well wishes. It truly means a lot to me. Although I've never actually met any of you, I can honestly say it feels like I "know" all of you and can consider you my friends. :-)
We didnt end up getting discharged from the hospital til about 2:30am bc although thw fever was responding to meds, it kept spiking back up. The good news is that even with the fever spiking back up, he didnt end up seizing again which is great. I can only hope we never ever have to go through this again.
They ended up diagnosing with with a run of the mill virus, and this is apparently how his body reacted to the temp spike. Apparently, MH had a few febrile seizures as a child too (my mil told us this last night!), and this type of thing tends to run in families. They also said this is quite common in kids my son's age and they see it every day. It helps to know that they have plenty of experience with this type of thing.
He's still not eating much (to he expected I guess), but we're on a strict regimen of pushing fluids and alternating tylenol and motrin to keep the fever down. He's currently in good spirits, which makes me a happy mama. I, OTOH, will likely be an anxious mess for a while bc, god help me, I dont ever want to see my baby go through that again.

Hes currently napping in my lap right now. Im ok with that.
Especially since he's so congested hes snoring really bad. I want to nap so bad, but I'm afraid to.
