Nanny Payroll Tax

How do you handle nanny payroll tax?  Do you compute it yourself using a spreadsheet?  Any helpful websites or online calculators?  Or do you outsource it to a company?  If so, any recommendations?
Many thanks!

We use nannychex. We could probably do it ourselves, but to us, it's worth the convenience fee.

  • We do the weekly stuff ourselves.  You have to deduct state tax withholding, federal tax withholding (See the IRS website, publication 15), Medicare for the Employee, Social Security for the Employee, Medicare for the Employer and social security for the Employee.
For the end of year stuff, we use an accountant.
    Good luck!

  • i use intuit online payroll - a pain to setup, but so easy to use.  calculates weekly pay, offers direct deposit and tells me when and how much to pay taxes.  payday takes less than 5 min, 1 min if i'm on my mobile using the app, and taxes take 5-10min.
