Nursery wall color - opinions please

So I finally found and ordered bedding today.  In addition to the bedding, we are going to re-do a dresser into a changing table, using Annie Sloan chalk paint in provence, the color is pictured below.  Any ideas on what color the walls should be?  Originally I wanted a light peach, but I'm not sure it that will clash with the light pink.  Comments and pictures are welcome, as I am terrible at this sort of thing.

Re: Nursery wall color - opinions please

  • That was what I first wanted to paint the walls, until I talked my DH into refinishing the dresser in that color.  Then I thought it would be too much.  I hadn't thought of doing it in a lighter color.  That might be cute.

  • Maybe a pale yellow would be nice?... Sort of like the picture with the bedding in it.

  • Ohhh, I love that combination!  I would go three walls in a paler version of the yellow in the bedding, and one accent wall, perhaps opposite the dresser/changing table in a blue/teal shade.  So pretty :)

  • A light grey. It looks like there is some grey in the bedding.

I like the light grey suggestion. Very light. And ps I love Annie Sloan chalk paint. I refinished all of our bedroom furniture in it.

Oh, those are cute! My first inclination is a to use a light turquoisey teal, a little lighter than the larger top left bird's body, so it will be a good bit lighter than the dresser color. I realize that is still bright, but I love colors, and blue/ greens are my faves!
That was my first thought.  I don't know how committed you are to the dresser color (it is great), but there are a lot of other colors in that set that could look great on the dresser.  Are you planning on keeping the dresser for a longer period of time to use as an actual dresser?  That might impact color choice as well.

  • Our bedding choices have similar colors. We are aiming for a light coral color, but will be using pink and aqua for our accent pieces like rug and bookshelf. I am attaching a pic of our bedding and our current paint choices. I like PP pale yellow suggestion and a friend mentioned pale yellow for us as well.

Yes I'm hoping the dresser will be used for years to come, as it is Ethan Allen.  I figured a turquoise color would be more versatile later on than a peach or pink.  Do you have any colors in mind?  We are half way through sanding the dresser, but we haven't bought the paint yet.

I love your paint colors and bedding.  The light coral peach is kind of what I originally had in mind.  I'll have to wait until I get the bedding in to see if that would still be a possibility or if it would clash.
  • @whitney4126‌ thanks I think we have decided on the light one and maybe accent with the darker. We have considered doing the light on top and dark on bottom with a white chair rail in the middle. Also in case you wanted a recommendation the color is Valspar Coral Peach for the lighter one

@whitney4126‌I am to lazy to look it up, were you the one with the EA furniture that DH didn't want to refinish himself but also didn't want to pay to have done? Glad you seem to have found a plan if so! :)
Yes that was me, and through perseverance, I won the battle!
  • Our bedding is very similar and we chose a very light yellow...Pantone Pastel Yellow from Lowes to be exact ;) As a graphic designer I pretty much died when I saw that Pantone has wall paint!

All adorable - I like the light yellow shown in the pic, actually. Not overpowering, subtly blends, warms it up, etc.

Goodness, I'm jealous, I wish we could paint our wall here. We're renting and the color we have right now is kind of the color of a peanut butter. It's actually not so terrible, but for a nursery, it just makes me cringe.

Anyways, I really like the colors in the photos shown in OP. Peach makes me think too warm though, the photo made me think of ivory, maybe a little darker?

Very cute bedding & dresser. I would go with a color that is almost white but with a hint of color (either mint, yellow, blue, or gray).
  • I have to agree with some of the other ladies and say that I think a pale yellow would be really nice =)
  • Thanks for all the input! I'm loving the suggestions. I should be getting the bedding in soon, and then I'll have to go get a bunch of paint chips and see what might look best. I might be posting again once I have it narrowed down.
