Super awesome pregnancy symptoms (take note of the sarcasm)

What are your favorite off-the-wall pregnancy symptoms? I've had about 90% of the pregnancy symptoms that books and websites talk about. I make a point in not researching symptoms unless I suffer from them so that I don't become a raging hypochondriac, but Christ, I had no idea pregnancy could screw me up so much! So far my favorites are raging gingivitis....as in, randomly tasting blood throughout the day. And also, obnoxiously dry skin on my belly and boobs. My skin is just flaking off despite lathering in lotion several times a day. It's gross. I'm disgusting.

Re: Super awesome pregnancy symptoms (take note of the sarcasm)

  • My skin hasn't been dry, but it has been itchy! It's really annoying. I'm putting lotion on all the time to soothe it. That's been an unexpected and annoying symptom!

  • Oh, I forgot one. The fiancé and I also enjoy when I wake up screaming bloody murder from Charlie horses in my calves. Adds spontaneity to our sleep schedule.
  • HORRIBLE toe cramps and bloody noses.  Actually a bloody nose has been one of my first pregnancy symptoms all three times.  I don't get them when I'm not pregnant.

  • I get horrible post nasal drip that I read could be pregnancy related. It makese so sick every morning!! Oh the joys of pregnancy !!
  • Bloody noses(cue the coke head jokes) and veiny boobs(like big blue horror movie veiny)

  • Calf cramp, spewing day and night (not so bad in this pregnancy) long hairs growing on my belly.  and pgp
  • I have experienced about 10% of the pregnancy symptoms out there. My favorite is the one that has been with me since the BFP - stuffy nose! I go through a kleenex box a week at my house, and I make sure to keep the travel ones in my purse and in my car at all times.  Also, every morning, I'm hacking and gagging at the congestion in the back of my throat. Lovely...just lovely.

  • I've had the bad congestion and bloody noses too. I have a history of sinus issues so they've just been exacerbated by this pregnancy. I love when the pharmacist was like, you can use some saline spray! I wanted to kick her the throat. Not helpful, lol.
  • Some of my "favorites" that I never, ever anticipated (I am a first-time mom):

-bloody nose issues for the first time in my entire life
-waking up with headaches and dry mouth at 2am
    -canker sores
-smell/food aversions that make so sense (like to red onion...which pre-pregnancy I would put on anything)
  • Mine have been headaches and calf muscle cramps/ soreness.

That's exactly how I am. Pretty much my only "major" pregnancy symptom. I got off really easy in terms of symptoms!

  • Bleeding teeth. Is it concerning that I no longer find the sight of blood even remotely upsetting? Lol.
  • I've been pretty lucky to not have many food or smell aversions! Most of my symptoms have been pretty mild.
1st tri: dry, itchy skin! I couldn't use anything other than organic, unscented lotions, washes, or deodorant. Psoriasis flared up as well for the first time in over 15 years. Sexy. Also was very exhausted!
2nd tri: easy peasy! Randomly would crave different foods for a couple of days.
27 weeks and moving towards 3rd tri: dry skin is back (gag!) and a couple of psoriasis flares. Leg cramps, backaches, and back to being completely exhausted.

My first trimester I had severe nausea all day to the point where I lost weight because I couldn't keep any food down, along with constipation, and occasional cramps. My skin broke out, I had eczema on my belly and itchy skin all over.  Around week 14 the constipation and nausea went away and eventually by week 18 I was actually feeling great for the first time in my pregnancy. Second trimester also gave me a ginormous appetite! Only problem is I have been having heartburn since around week 16 and I would not survive if not for Zantac!

Now that I'm at 27 weeks, I've been having occasional bouts of nausea, spine aches, tingling feet, and my vagina hurts like a b*tch. My linea nigra runs all the way up to my chest, and my boobs have gotten so big (I was previously a 36DD) that the weight of my bra is giving me a horizontal line across my upper belly!

and throughout my entire pregnancy so far I have been having the weirdest, craziest dreams!!

    Ever heard of vulvar varicosities?
I don't even want to get into describing it and I am not sure if it is truly what I experienced since for me it only lasted a few days (during my first pregnancy)...
But here's an article on it if you are so inclined...

  • my first pregnancy was HORRIBLE for charlie horses. I looked into how to help them though this time, and have found it helps SO much .... just stretch your toes up towards your head to help and i've found that it goes away within seconds. there are so many odd and gross things your body goes through .. i'm 27 weeks now and have been noticing it's really starting to get fun!

Terrible bleeding gums lately, so I scheduled a dentist appointment to make sure everything looked okay. I have started involuntarily grunting when I bend down.  And, I have developed some sort of allergy to my husband's penis which gives me an itchy sensation during sex.  I made the doctor double check that it wasn't a yeast or bacterial infection.  She says no, it's probably just his semen you're allergic to.  Awesome.
  • @whitney4126‌ - Ok, that's just horrible.

I thought it's been not so bad so far in my pregnancy (this is my first, so I have no clue what to expect, ever!!). I had bloody noses every morning for a week, but I just considered it normal since I've had them randomly throughout my whole life... or from the dry air (so I went out and bought a humidifier). I was unaware that bloody noses could be a part of pregnancy... I was experiencing this before I found out I Was pregnant so I brushed it off.
I had morning sickness for a week, every morning right after eating.... I stopped eating my favorite Special K fruit and yogurt cereal until today. And then a few more days after that, once after eating a delicious Greek salad... needless to say, I've yet to eat one of those since then.
I've also been super exhausted, like all day. One night I went to bed at 7:00 and slept through the night. It's ridiculous. I just want my energy back!
I recently started getting some pretty bad headaches and yesterday I had the WORST back pain on the lower right side... it hurt to get up and walk. And I've started using the restroom a lot more than usual!
I think that's all so far, I consider myself lucky... I know some of you ladies have it a lot worse! :(

Oh yeah, let's not forget the super moodiness and emotions!! I haven't cried in the longest time, but since being pregnant I will over NOTHING. My boyfriend went to sleep before I did one night, flood gates were opened. I can't help but laugh now!
  • It is awesome to here that I am not alone in my symptoms!  hahaha! Be warned of the detailed descriptions to follow…

    Okay, here are mine:
Super gas (really loud, forceful, and stinky), bleeding gums, constipation for days on end, bloating, peeing 4 times a night, such swollen legs and feet (oh the pain at the end of the day - I am a teacher and on my feet all day), crazy emotions where I kinda feel like a slightly crazy person, and super tiredness.  I seem to have lacked all motivation to do anything as well.  Oh and my arms fall asleep when I am sleeping on my side.  Either side. :)
  • Sweat. I have sweaty feet and sweaty palms and need twice as much deodorant and have even ended up applying said deodorant to my inner thighs and behind my knees. Its so gross and I've never had this problem before, I'm not a sweater!! I don't feel overly warm, but my body is just producing sweat, yuck! It goes well with the swollen feet and hands after working out. Also, I am getting sore hips from sleeping on my side all the time, miss sleeping on my stomach!!

  • It sounds as if I've got off pretty lightly so far! FTM here...
Horrible, horrible gas! Bloating, headaches, the worst dry mouth every morning (like I've been out on the beers alllllll night), and dry skin on my hands (thank god for Aveeno hand cream!). Diarrhea, which I'm far happier to get than constipation! I also got quite a few spots on my chest in the first tri but they've cleared up now, yay. I've had a clogged nose too, but that comes and goes.
  • Lol i'm glad I'm not the only one with these. 14 weeks.
My boobs look bruised. Nips are blue/purple
Wake up with bloody noses, dry mouth, headaches
    Dry skin
I don't even recognize my gastrointestinal symptoms anymore. I used to know what my body was doing... I have no clue what's happening in there.

*Said goodbye to our angel baby July 30. 2014. only had him for 21 weeks in my belly, missing him every day*
