9 more days

I've given up hope if going on my own and getting my VBAC, my RCSis scheduled for 9 days from now. So that leaves me with 9 more days of SPD. Praying it goes away once this child finally exits my body!

Re: 9 more days

  • Did you lose interest in trying for a vbac, or do you just not feel like it will happen? I am 6 days out from my tentative RCS date @ 41 weeks, but I am still hoping for a vbac before then. It's hard to say if my body will deliver on my wish (pun intended), but you never know what may happen from one day to the next! Good luck either way though. :)

  • I just don't feel like it will happen. I'm still high, thick, and sealed up like a Fort Knox. I asked my OB what his thoughts were on the chances of my body doing anything and he said probably zero.

  • My RCS is 14 days away (40w6d) and I am wondering if I'll get my VBAC before then too. I really don't want to go out that far, but it feels like LO is never going to make her way down and out.

    FX for us all!

  • I hope you get your VBAC...9 days is still time for things to change (fingers crossed). If not, I remember my SPD went away basically immediately after having DS1 so I hope that happens for you as well.

  • I worry about the SPD because if how bad it is. I know some people that have had to do PT after to fix theirs.

@pistolpackinmomma Remind me... Do you have big-headed babies, or is your cervix stubborn for unknown reasons? My OB isn't even doing cervical checks because she says that even if this baby is smaller overall, her head will probably be close to the same size and shape as DS's and won't engage. Out of curiosity I tried to check my own cervix last night, and sure enough, it was so dang high I couldn't even reach it.

I'm having a RCS because I have an ovarian mass that needs to be removed when the baby comes (and I honestly don't have a desire to experience labor), but if I'd opted for VBAC it looks like I'd be SOL. My cervix apparently just isn't interested in cooperating.

I hope yours works out for you, though. You never know! I've heard of many surprise VBACs happening even hours before the c-section is meant to take place.

  • @jenb_99‌ My first c/s was due to a baby being an asshole (I love him but we joked he was grounded before he was even born) and going from head down for weeks to breech at 39 weeks. But he never really dropped and I never really dilated with him either so I'm guessing my cervix is just an asshole too.

  • ^ long story short I've determined my body sucks and does what it wants instead of what I need it to do.

My husband is the asshole in our case. Him and his gigantic pumpkin head, which apparently all our children will inherit. My cervix is like image

Lol. I can't blame DH for anything other than knocking me up like I wanted. He was a small baby at just under 9 lbs. I was the monster at 9 lbs 7.5 oz. DS was 9 lbs 3 oz. I suppose I should thank DH.

I am a RCS. My cervix is also an asshole. I had contractions Sunday night for hours and finally went in. They were painful and 2-5 mins apart. The OB on call sent me home bc I wasn't dilated. This is my 3rd LO and my cervix has never dilated. Therefore.....an asshole.
I wish you luck for your VBAC though. Don't give up hope!!

  • @Nmooney1‌ that is a solidarity love tit. We walked like crazy today and now I'm crampy (though that could be from the cervical check yesterday) do we'll see. I need to clean out the baby's closet which means carrying stuff to the basement so yay stairs?
