Hey ladies,
Wow, this was a long process, but worth every last second to hold my beautiful baby girl.
Short story: Baby Micaila was born on May 2nd, 2014 at 0449 at exactly 42 weeks. 9 lbs, 21 inches.
Long story: Cervidil placed on Apr 30th softened cervix, but not enough to go into labor. Booked for induction on May 1st with Pitocin. Started at 1530 and was super slow drip. Major back labor till epidural in late evening. Then cervix magically softened in 45 minutes and went from 4 cm dilated to 9 cm dilated. My MW was sure I would need a c-section and was amazed at how much progress I made in such a short time. I required an epistiotomy due to her large head circumference and still had two small labial tears after. A bit of suction, and hours of intense pushing and she was born.
All in all it was an amazing experience and at one point I had 7 Doctors/Nurses in the room, along with my DH and mum!! After a quick check over by the pediatrician and suction for her mucous she was placed in my arms. DH and I are madly in love, and now know the true meaning!!
Here she is with her proud Dad just minutes after birth. She has changed so much already.
