Nursing Bra for Larger Gals, any recommendations?

So I have a question, I was a 38D pre-pregnancy, I am not sure what I will be after other then BIG, lol. My question is most nursing bras seem to be build for the smaller perkery gals (no offense) are there any larger gals on the board that could recommend a good nursing bra that will actually support big ginormous boobies?

Also how many bras do you think I should have on hand?
I apologize if this was previously posted, I do not come on here often.

Wait until a few weeks after your milk comes in, when your supply regulates, before ordering. Nordstroms has many sizes (can order online), and even Amazon has some. Motherhood and Target only have very small sizes.

Echoing the previous advice, I would get a maternity tank from Target to use in the mean time. They're $20 and the 2x can acommodate some pretty huge boobies.

  • Zulily also has larger nursing bras
  • I bought a couple of soft cup bras before giving birth. My size didn't change after my milk came in (hadn't really changed during pregnancy, either). I did have rapid weight loss in the first six weeks, so those bras were a bit big on me. At that point I bought an Anita brand bra through Amazon. The bra I bought goes up to 44E, but smaller band sizes go up to G cup, so there are definitely options out there. If there are any specialty lingerie stores in your area it's worth it to get a custom fitting.
  • Bravado! Worth the money.
  • If you're like me you like to sleep w/o a bra, very difficult to do when you're leaking in the night. I was a 38 DDD before I was pregnant, 40 DD during pregnancy and now a 38 G. Our area has a lactation store but my bra is a madela brand. I have two bras that I use out and 1 bra that I got from target that is loose that I wear at night. It's the closest thing to feeling like I have on nothing. When the girls are large a good bra makes all the difference.

I was a 38 C prepregnancy and a 42 DD after pregnancy.  I purchased several different styles from my local lactation store.  The brand that I have is Bravado.  There are several out there.  The brand Anita goes up to a 42 E.

Also, if you're going to pump I highly recommend a hands free pump bra.  Simple Wishes is fully adjustable and has zipper inserts to widen the space between your breast for more comfort while nursing.
  • Elomi or Anita if you need to go above DD!

I bought 2 Elle McPherson bras from Nordstrom, not cheap but pretty good for support. I'm wearing a 36G. I have nursing tops (XL) from Motherhood Maternity but there s alot of cleavage....inside tops only ;)

  • I had  a lot of trouble with this! I found at walmart online they had a nursing bra pack of two that were considered more like at home or sleeping nursing bras but that was about all I could find for my size. That was a while ago but you could check that out online. I also used to have good luck at Kohls but not really for nursing bras. I hope you find what works for you!

  • I was a 38G. I wore the Bravado Bliss bra. I also love my Bravado nursing tanks. They are supportive for even larger girls.

  • I just wanted to say... the suggestion for Nordstroms, I'd never even thought of.  I just looked online and have ordered a couple of bras.  I'm usually a 40D, but I didn't see my exact size.  HOWEVER, I just found some handy info in which it tells you basically the synonym for your bra size. I'm bummed that they didn't have these bras in my size in stock at the stores closest to me, but at least I can return them if they don't work. :)
