My dd turned one last month! Yaaay we made it a year!! We have been exclusively breastfeeding(along with solids at six months)and she has only had a handful of bottles along the way. We are down to nursing 2xday and I'm ready to start the weaning process. My Dh and I are going on a vacay in June and I would love to have her completely weaned by then. My problem is.....dd has been getting up around 5:30-6 am to nurse and then goes back to sleep until about 7 which is great. Well the past few weeks she has been getting up earlier and earlier to nurse. Right now it's around 4 am. She will sit in her crib and scream and cry until I go in and nurse. I have never done any sleep training, I have always nursed on demand and I am unsure how to break her of this. I would not mind at all getting up around 6 for a sippy of milk and breakfast but I feel 4am is a little early for that. Anybody dealt with this before? Or have any idea on how to get her to stop waking to nurse? I'm not totally opposed to cry it out but she is pretty persistent and I feel like she would cry for hours. Going in her room and trying to soothe seems to make her more mad, and she doesn't take a pacifier. TIA!
