Trip to Denver - help please!

we are going to a wedding in Denver - child free - memorial day weekend. We'll have most of the day Saturday and all day Sunday to explore, and we're trying to decide 1)what to do and 2)if we need to rent a car. We like a wide range of things - dh loves sports and I'm sure he'll want to check out some brewery action, I want to check out downtown (wedding is at the four seasons)...we like to eat...any suggestions are appreciated!

If you like Brazilian food, there is a really good Brazilian stake house downtown by Coors Field. I can't remember the name of it though, and it is pricey.  If you plan on catching a baseball game, sit in the rooftop bar. We did this weekend, and it was really cool. If you are into the hippie scene, Morrison is a really cool little town to visit.

If you don't want to spend all your time in Denver, you are a little over an hour away from Boulder, Estes Park, and Colorado Springs.

ETA: Bring lots of sunscreen, and drink lots of water as well.

Just me, but I would rent a car and get OUT of Denver for at least an afternoon.  You'll be no more than an hour from the base mountains.  PP have given many great suggestions.  Morrison and Red Rocks are good day trips. Whatever you do DONT go to Casa Bonita!!!  Just, don't.

I thought about telling her not to go to Casa Bonita too! But maybe people don't recommend it anymore? Hopefully not! Denver Museum of Natural History is really cool. I say rent a car and go to the mountains though, should be great weather. Probably too far for you, but Territory Days always runs over memorial day weekend in Colorado springs...Great street fair/festival.

I would also strongly recommend you rent a car and get up to Boulder one afternoon/evening to the Pearl Street Mall.  It is (especially) beautiful in the Spring and tons of shops and restaurants with patios and stop and watch the street performers.  The Boulder Cafe has 1/2 off Fondue happy hour, which is really good.

If you are looking for hikes, Chatauqua is in Boulder and there are lots of great hikes, varying difficulty and beautiful.  I second Sushi Den and the Brazilian restaurant that @lildevil968 mentioned, is, I believe called Fogo de Chao.  I think it is a chain and in some other cities, but it is really delicious.  Have fun!
