If you attend a group, what do you like most about the group? How is your group structured?
What would you like to be seen added or done differently in your group?
Reason I'm asking is I'm about to start a group and just getting ideas, etc to see what moms out there really like or are looking for in a group! Even though I'm a BF momma, I would like to make sure I'm gearing toward what others really want so their time is well spent!
Thanks!
Re: Breastfeeding Support Group
I have really enjoyed getting to know other moms, getting input from moms with babies who are older, and discussing things not strictly BF related. We also have a Facebook group for support between meetings.
The only criticism I have is that it's hard to contribute when there are more than a dozen moms. I wouldn't want to limit the group size, though, unless it were closer to 20. (Typically there are 10-16 moms)
Of course weighed feeds are a huge benefit. If time allows, we also do a show and tell of products that we like and find helpful. Usually they are BF or baby wearing related.
Mom to Lily and Colin!
I loved the casual atmosphere. I mostly went for time with the LC at first and for the weighed feedings and social aspect later. I loved the evening time so I could go after work and meet other working moms. My fav meeting was when the LC brought in some demo pump flanges and helped anyone with pumping Qs.
Also she did a little celebration whenever an mom and baby pair reached one year BF'ing!!
