A few months ago I started waxing my bikini area. So far I'm loving it, but curious how long you wait between waxing? And do you shave if something last minute comes up that you want to be clean for or are you pretty religious about waxing every X amount of weeks and that's it? How long are you smooth before any hair starts growing back?
My waxer tells me 4 weeks is fine. My friend gets hers every 8 weeks. I feel like when I go closer to 4 vs 8 I have the next cycle of hair coming in much sooner.
TIA
Re: If you wax your beav, come in
The technician at the salon said she recommends doing it every 4 weeks because that's how long a hair growth cycle is, so the hairs will still be dead and won't have rooted yet, so they'll be easier to pull out. Also it will get all of the hair on the same growth cycle, and the hair will eventually get finer and thinner.
I don't know - she might be right, but I'm going to stick to only special occasions because I don't want to spend more on my pubic hair maintenance than I do on the hair on my head.
So how long are you smooth, meaning no hair at all?
TMI and overshare warning - speaking of honest questions, I felt the need to tell the technician about my hemherroids because I didn't want her to be freaked out and also didn't know if that would be an issue. She was like, "It won't be a problem; I've seen them before, and I won't be actually putting the wax in your anus because hair doesn't grow there." I LOLed and then felt dumb for asking the question.
I schedule a "Brazilian" which (at this salon) is back area included, my lady asks if we're "leaving anything" meaning a patch/heart/strip etc.
If you didn't want butt, it'd be bikini wax.
@WrathfulMom, it's definitely not comfortable. You can take a few ibuprofen before, or they even sell cream to numb that area. I've heard that it doesn't hurt as much the more you do it. I definitely thought of the "Yooooooooow, Kelly Clarkson!" waxing scene from 40 year old virgin, but it wasn't that bad.
