Ahhh a little anxious but very hopeful. We are trying out the crib tonight. We have been napping successfully all week in the crib so i thought the weekend was a perfect time to try night time crib sleeping. We shall see...
I really want to put LO in her crib, but it makes me really nervous because she's such a quiet sleeper. I was the person that told everyone that she would be in her crib from day one, but due to having to wake her up so frequently to nurse due to weight issues we put her in our room for the last month. I might sleep in the nursery for the first few nights just to ease my mind.
Our LO likes the crib - we had one full successful night, but we're in Cali and lately it's been 90 degrees - LO likes to be swaddled and there's no way I can swaddle him (even with the air conditioner running). So his schedule really off now. I'm not sure what to do. His startle reflex is still in full swing, so he doesn't sleep soundly when not swaddled.

This ! I have to use the halo swaddle sack when she naps in her crib . If not as soon as I lay her down she startles her self and her arms start swinging and she's wide awake !! Hopefully she'll grow out of this ?! If not she will be swaddled until she goes to college .

We've had a pretty good night. Basically the same thing she had been doing in her swing in our room. Her first stretch had been lengthing though and that shortened tonight so not sure if the past few nights were a fluke or if tonight she woke up earlier because of the crib.
I'm trying her first stretch of sleep in the crib out right now. Last night she lasted about 2.5 hours. This week she would barely nap anywhere except on me, so I haven't tried much napping in her crib recently. Hoping as time goes she'll build up to her long stretches in the crib. I don't mind her in bed with me or in our room after a long stretch, just want her to at least do majority of her sleeping in her crib. I'm getting so anxious about going back to work!
Tonight will be night #6 of trying it out sleeping in crib. He has been only making it about 45 minutes at a time! Exhausting but I'm trying to stay strong and keep up the routine. He will otherwise sleep almost 5 hours straight on my chest but once I start back at work (in 1 week) I will be too worried about being overtired and holding him while sleeping. Praying he starts stretching it out longer!
Tonight will be night 3 in the crib and so far so good. This is after little luck with naps in the crib. She wakes up happier in the mornings now, I'm happier in the mornings, she goes back to sleep after feeding so much better too! I'm glad I did it! She's not sleeping as long, but we are still getting 4-5hr stretches and a total of about 12hrs of sleep.

Lucky!! I'm so jealous of 4-5 hour stretches! Good job! 45 min isn't cutting it lol

She will outgrow it I promise. Dd1 was swaddled until she rolled over at about 4 months. The transition went better than I thought
I think I'll start tomorrow by introducing him to his bed. I'll use the morning nap times and probably the evening on as well. I've been paranoid to put him in his crib but we need our room back! With LO there, every movement or noise he makes I wake up immediately and check up on him..or when we move or anything, he wakes up and it's an extra 30mins to get him asleep again. At least he gives us 5hours of sleep lol

Our little one loves to sleep in his Moses basket. Every time I put him in his crib he wakes within an hour. I'm trying to get the crib thing to work bc he's too tall for the basket.

This is night 3 of operation crib transition and it is going okay. She typically sleeps really well for the first stretch for 3-5 hours but has been gassy starting around her first MOTN feeding and keeps waking herself up trying to pass it. I had to give her some gas drops around 3 this afternoon and it actually seems to be helping tonight as well. If so I may continue giving her gas drops at that feeding to help her sleep. Better living through pharmaceuticals, that's my motto! ;-)
Ok so tell me to stop worrying and let my poor girl sleep!! Here is what she does starting at about 12:30am tonight she will wake and let out one loudish squawk/cry. That wakes me so I sit and watch her video monitor and she will be moving her head back and forth and I can see her trying to move her arms(she's swaddled). She might have her eyes open and maybe grunts/squeaks a few more times as she moves her head around and then bam she's back asleep. This happened about every hour so 1:30 then around 3 and I finally just got up and came into her room but her eyes were very much closed I totally woke her up cause I couldn't handle it anymore. Is this just normal sleep patterns? I am afraid that she isn't crying to get me up,like she opens her eyes looks around and doesn't see me so she just goes back to sleep. I am guessing if she was truly hungry or dirty she would cry and not stop? I just don't know cause I never let her truly cry and tend to come rushing in when she is having one of those little wake ups. Should I take a chill pill and sleep?
@BTBergstrom, take a chill pill and let her sleep! ;-) I think she will cry if she needs something, otherwise let her sleep. The fact that she is self soothing is a good thing!

Have you tried the Muslim Aiden and Auden swaddles? They're really light.
This. We have the muslin and the bamboo ones- they are great and super light.
Wow I didn't know that I just kept thnking she was waking. My husband told me to turn the monitor down so I don't hear all her little squeaks and grunts.
Trying the crib tonight. He has never slept in it, even naps. So far he slept 5 hours 25 min woohoo!! However, my excitement has been dampened by the fact that after feeding for 20 min he just projectile vomited all over him, me, and the chair (never happened before). On to another 20 min session. Pray this one stays down. I don't have a 3rd boob to provide!
