K'Tan Baby Carrier

I was wondering if you gave this do you love it, and how is the sizing. I'm about a -14-16 on top (yay for big boobs!). I read some reviews where they said it stretched out etc. So I'm thinking a Large but concerned I'll need a medium. I need to order and have by Saturday...

Any input will be great, thanks!

Re: K'Tan Baby Carrier

  • I would definitely say medium.

  • Thank you so much! I'm ordering this afternoon!
  • Make sure you order even smaller if shorter than 5'2. I got a large...I'm a size 12-14 and only 5' so the thing swims on me.

I'm about a 14-16 on top too and I got a large. It's too big - wish I would have gotten a medium!

Mine has stretched out considerably. I absolutely love it, though.

  • I'm not sure about what size you'd need, but I LOVED mine.  We went through a billion different carriers with my son before we found one that both he and I loved (unfortunately it wasn't the K'Tan, he hated it).  Its so easy to put on, no dealing with lots of fabric and making sure knots are tight enough!

  • I'm using a k'tan and love it. I got a medium and it's a little big but once LO grows a bit more it will be perfect.
I usually wear a large shirt because I'm busty as well and the medium is working out fine.

  • Mine was too big on me as well; definitely order down.
  • Have you washed yours yet? I hear that when you wash them they do shrink a little. I got a small and I'm happy with mine. I usually wear a medium in shirts but I'm only 5'2".

I did not wash it yet; thanks! I will try that.
  • I normally wear a 8-10, am 5'2 and ordered a small. It works great! I have noticed that it is smaller after washing but does stretch a little after wearing it for a while.

  • I'm about your size and I have the medium. It fits well. I didn't think I would like a wrap, but it is great!
  • Obsessed and so is my little one she thinks it's the best thing ever! I got an XS and my husband wears it to lol
  • I just searched for K'tan in the forums, because my LO and I just used it for the first time to walk the pup! she was SNUG to say the least and shes not a big girl, neither am I really? We got a Small for a shower gift,  Im 135 10 days PP and shes a little over 8lbs but its super tight! It felt small before washing and now I fear its so small there is NO WAY my 6'2" husband is wearing this! Does it stretch out a TON? I think we may have to spend the $80+ to get a Bjorn or something similar for him to wear? Also Im thinking it may be super hot in the summer? Any advice? We would need a front and rear facing carrier for my Hubby to wear as well.
  • You want it snug and it will stretch out some. Based on what you say about size I would stick with small. You can either get your husband his own or consider something like an ergo. The new ergo can be used ff or rf and it's much better for baby and more comfortable than a bjorn.

  • Also baby wearing in warm weather is just hot. There's really no way around it.

  • LOVE my k'tan. they say to size down if between or 5'2" or shorter (which i did) and it's great. you want it snug because it will stretch some. so easy to use and comfy!
  • I am about a 12-14 and have a med K'tan. It fits well, but prob not for long. Baby is 9 lbs and 21 inches long and i prob have a few more months before I will be purchasing another one. It does stretch out, but i wonder if other positions will be too tight in the future.

Sorry for the lack of capitals, typing with baby in lap is hard enough.

  • The ktan, like other stretchy carriers, really works best for the new born and infant stage. I think my daughter outgrew it around 15 pounds? And sizing up really won't help.
