So LO was born at 8 lb 13 oz and discharged at 8 lb 5 oz. We have been monitoring weight with ped and she has yet to regain birth weight. I've been supplementing with an ounce of BM after each feeding. This past Friday, she was 2 weeks and weighed 7 lb 12 oz. Doc isn't too concerned bc of diaper output. She's peeing and pooping like a champ and a happy baby overall. My question is...I still have to wake her every 3 hours for feedings until she regains birth weight, but she hates waking up. I haven't tried letting her sleep until she's ready to wake up and feed bc of the weight issue. What are some suggestions on how to wake her for feedings? I dont feel she nurses as well, esp at night bc she isn't fully alert. Any advice is appreciated!!
TIA!
