Recovery

I feel like recovery is a topic unshared. I had DS2 about a week and a half ago, I'm doing well but when I stand for a long period of time I feel like there is a lot of blood/ pressure between my legs. Also, I had a catheter, sometimes it feels like my clitoris fills with blood. Is this feeling normal / due to the catheter? Going to go away soon?

Btw, why do they use a catheter? I don't remember this with DS1.

the catheter is so you don't pee all over the doc like I did when they took it out before stitchig me up, I think.

I'm three weeks pp and I still feel that way. Lots of fluid from all the trauma of delivery is what is causing all the pressure when you stand. It gets better, but I still can't stand for very long.

It'll go away, I had a rough delivery so I'm giving myself at least a couple more weeks before I expect to feel "normal".

  • I was getting this and still kind of get this too 3 weeks later. I had to have a catheter because of the epidural I wasn't able to tell that I had to go pee and after I gave birth I wasn't able to pee cuz I couldn't really feel down there.

After DD1 I felt like my insides were going to fall out if I stood for too long. That feeling lasted a long time. This recovery has been much faster/easier, but DD2 was 1lb9oz smaller- makes a difference.

  • I have the opposite problem. If I sit down for too long I get uncomfortable. I feel the need to shift positions about every 10 minutes or so. I either feel stiffness in my tailbone area or my stitches start feeling sore.

Putting a pillow between my legs helped me a lot. As well as keeping my legs elevated and apart( like in a recliner)
  • I think the best thing I did for myself was get outside and start walking.

Slowly and only short distances at first but still, I'm three weeks postpartum after an emergency csection and an infection and I feel pretty good. But I forced myself out of bed the same day she was born (stupid) and got out of bed the next day to use the bathroom.

I have some pain still but it comes and goes and the more I move, the better I feel the next day.

  • Almost 4 weeks PP from vaginal delivery, and for the most part I'm okay now except when I'm standing still in a checkout line or doing dishes or something. The longer I stand, the more pressure (and a bit of pain) I feel between my legs. It's a combination of feeling like I have an over-full bladder and feeling like I'm trying to keep everything below my rib cage from falling out. Had a 4th degree tear, so I figure it'll be another week or two before that starts to abate. =/
