Late night check in?

edited May 2014 in May 2014 Moms
Any interest in starting a late night check in daily thread? We used to do this on my old BMB and it was one of the few things keeping me sane the weeks after DD was born. Anyone up at night should feel free to start the thread. New moms can update throughout the night about how long their LO slept, how many times they've been up feeding, etc. pregsomniacs can update about what they're up to or what not. Anyone can just post any random thoughts going trough their minds while not sleeping. It really helped me when DD was a newborn not feeling like I was the only one up all night nursing and getting no sleep.

So what do you think, late night check in yay or nay?

  • And in the spirit of the LNCI, it's almost 2.30 am here. I can't sleep, DH is snoring so I've spent the last 4 hours catching up on TB and everything I missed since Thursday. So many new outside babies, yay! I've been awake since 5.30am and I'm exhausted (is this normal??), really wish I could sleep now.

I'm up. Tired but up. Feeling crampy. No outside baby yet, but maybe soon.
  • I'm up. Been up at least twice to go to the bathroom. Had some random pains/possible contractions which have now stopped. And now I'm wide awake and Pitch Perfect is on TV so watching that.

Wide awake... And the longer I'm awake the more hungry I become which makes me less likely to fall back asleep. But I'm too lazy to get up and go all the way to the kitchen, especially when I know there's nothing good to eat :( ugh...
ETA cause mobile bumping and spelling are hard at 03:45. And then apparently I hit close instead of post. Seriously brain if you're gonna keep me up then function properly! If not let me go the fuck back to sleep!!

STM here. I think baby doesn't move during the contraction itself, but can move inbetween. Not positive there.

DH and I watched Pitch Perfect tonight. I still like it, he was on the fence.
  • I'm up with lo trying to get him to nurse off my engorged boobs. So painful. He also hasn't pooped in two days. We see the doc first thing tomorrow

Wide awake too.. I'm trying to figure out if I'm actually having contractions or if I'm just imagining things! Mild crampy pain radiating to my back about every 10 minutes so far.. I should be sleeping just in case but obviously I'm watching the clock instead...
Question for STMs- Will baby move around during real contractions or is that a sign they could be false ones?

Same here. I'm guessing mine aren't the real deal but I've never had any of the mind cramping/back soreness. LO is moving around during them a bit too.
So hungry but too lazy to go downstairs or admit that I'll be awake until my alarm goes off. Should be a fun day at work!

  • LNCI sounds great. I am up again with DD2. She has her 2 week checkup in the morning so I am excited to see how much she has grown. The only downside is that I have to wake up early to get us all packed up and get DD1 over to my mom. I really wish this little lady would start sleeping in longer stretches soon, even just a little bit...

  • Today is the first day of my maternity leave and I am up at the crack of dawn! The constant peeling is annoying but I have some have avoiding it until now (37+ weeks) so I guess I can't complain. I will definitely want somewhere to chat once I am lucky enough to have an outside baby.

Today is my due date, and I've been up since about 230...waiting...
  • LNCI I like it! It's 2 am and I am up as usual, wishing labor would just start already. Random contractions that last about 40 mins and then magically go away as soon as I think it's something. I've accepted it, I'm going to be pregnant until Christmas.
  • I like the idea of LNCI, gives us all something to do in the middle of the night, before we lose our minds from lack of sleep.
  • Got pissed at Civ5 and am now listening to DH's arguments on the yahoo message boards/comments. I'm not really in the mood to help troll or to come up with arguments or to be the devil's advocate. But it is really uncomfortable to stand up and go to bed. And if I go to bed, that means I need to give DH sex, partly for his benefit and partly to get this kid out.

Gogo lots of sex this week of vacation. Kid better not come tomorrow (today?); I don't want him born on his great-grandmother's birthday who was not a very nice person to her grandchildren.

I think no poop is fine as long as he's having plenty of pee diapers. But for sure check with the pedi.
