Hello ladies!

I know some of you have seen my posts around, but I must admit I am not very good at updating and being here all the time. Between my 2 jobs, volunteering, school, and house work, it is hard for me to be online...
Just to summarize; My DH and I have been married for 2 years, TTC for over one and we had 1 miscarriage. I have tried all methods that people would tell me to, including the temp chart that someone actually taught me here! Nothing worked! It was so frustrating that every month my fucking AF would come and I felt like failure...  Last month we decided to look for medical help since it has been over a year. Turns out my DH sperm is too slow, otherwise I am super duper healthy - thankful for that!

We have decided to do in vitro - is that how you call it? or insemination? - I am pretty sure you all know what I mean...
Well, I have never met someone who has done this and dont know what to expect. I was hoping some of you could give me some advice? Tell me if you have done it before? Why did it or didn`t work? Should I get my hopes all high and expect it works just like that?
I am very luck that my health insurance pays for all of this, but I am scared... I think I am scared mostly if it doesnt work...

AND last one, I am reading a book that I recommend all of you to read! It is called Super Natural  Childbirth by by Jackie Mize. It is very religious thought, but very very very interesting!!! I am almost done with mine and it is taking me only two days!!!

That is all ladies!

I hope you are having a great Sunday!!

  • I am in the process of starting IVF, well I am on birth control at the moment and have to go back to my RE towards the end of May to see if I can start stimming.  I don't have much advice because I am not there yet.  I have done 3 medicated cycles with Gonal which is the same meds that I am going to be on for IVF and I guess it wasn't that bad, just a lot of bloating and it got very uncomfortable when my ovaries filled up with eggs.  I imagine IVF will be even more uncomfortable because I am doing more meds than just Gonal.

As far as pregnancy feeling like being on birth control, is a crock of shit if you ask me or at least I've never been on bc that made me feel like that.  Is this coming from a male dr?

    Good Luck!
    Fucking bump!!!!

First - I was pregnant for 8 week last winter before miscarrying...no, it didn't feel like when you're on BCPs.  I don't know what doctor would put it in those words.  Did they explain more on what they meant by that?

Second - as others stated IUI (insemination) and IVF are TOTALLY different treatments.  Lurk and read up on both, question your doctor, look at what info they've given you, learn what they plan to do so you can ask questions.

Third - looking for those who have "done it" and why or why not it didn't work... Well most everyone here has not had success.  And if they did, it was short lived and they miscarried.  If you want success stories, go to PG after IF board and ask them.

But I will answer in a way as I've done both.  IUI five times - is similar to a pap spear only with drugs to make you moody and bloats for the week before. One IUI I got pregnant but miscarried soon after.  The others didn't work partially because we have low sperm count & motility - only two of five times did we have a post wash above 8 million.  Also, it turns out I have a form of natural killer cells.  We did not learn this until after my IVF/FET where I became pregnant for 8w before my baby stopped growing and died.  I'd say things worked and/or failed because of all my RE had learned from testing and previous cycles.  Adjustments were made, hopes were wished, and we moved forward.  But above it all - I educated myself.  Do the same, as you are your own best advocate.  As for what IVF is like?  Well, wait until you get near that point then read the IF board and lots of blogs and you will see.

  • Oy looks like I came to the wrong place to ask my questions. I a, sorry everyone. I should have known better.
  • Thank you

  • You are right, and I said I am sorry as I realized I came to the wrong place. Again, I am sorry.

  • I removed that part as it was not important. Maybe that is why people were upset but I didnt even realize as I was just venting a bunch of random stuff that was making me mad... Thank you for the heads up.
