Almost 38 weeks and I can't get my large ass off the couch unless I'm walking to the fridge or pantry. Meanwhile my OH is leaving love notes that say "wash me" on the shower door.

Note... He was kidding completely and knows better than to demand cleaning. He actually offered to have the house cleaned to be sweet so I don't have to bother. What gives though... I'm a complete lard ass that doesn't want to do jack these days.

Nesting only kicked in with DD the two days before I went into labor...luckily it was a weekend, so I actually cleaned the house a little, but I was definitely not one of those who had long periods of desire to clean, organize and whatnot. Now I have a ton to do and am forcing myself to do some of it - I'm certainly not doing any of it to satiate some desire to "nest"!

I tend to nest AFTER I give birth. 3 babies and with each one I feel like I can't move off the couch at the end of the pregnancy, yet when we bring home the baby I am ready to CLEAN ALL THE THINGS!!

I had a burst of nesting energy the couple days leading up to when I gave birth. I tried to get the nursery finished and the house clean, but DH kept saying "No, you rest, let me clean it up!" Of course then it never got done!

I've been preparing for months, so I'm not quite sure how simple preparation differs from nesting before birth. All the things have pretty much been done for weeks now. And normal cleaning is futile right now, the house gets messy quick no matter what I do.

My nesting included updating our CC info with the housekeepers since the one on file with them had been hacked. They come Monday and then not for 2 more weeks so here is to hoping this is their last visit before baby.

Nesting my ass. If I don't clean it who the hell will? I'm lucky when my husband occupies our son long enough for me to vacuum.

Plus my mother in law is coming to stay w our son when I go into labor and for some reason I feel like I need the house to be spotless when she's here. Not rational, I know!

I'm not sure what this counts as: I have the desire and even motivation to clean, but 0 energy to actually get up. DH helps a bit which is great, but I want to do it myself. MIL came over yesterday and did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen for which I should be grateful, but I only felt stabby.

Feel your pain!! I had the nesting urge around 32 weeks and haven't had it again since then. We did hire a housekeeper to come every 2 weeks so I don't feel as bad that I am not touching anything. I am way too tired, way too uncomfortable, and can barely bend over anymore...so, it's not happening by me.

I feel the same exact way! We planned on grocery shopping and making meals to freeze (at 38 weeks), think we waited long enough? Lol so we get home and I was already so tired from shopping that none of the meals got done, except our dinner which was sloppy Joes... easy! I just did dishes, only bc the pile was getting rediculously. I also swept the floor because it needed it. Everything seems like a challenge these days. I feel like I want a clean house for when people visit after she is born.

I went to clean the bathroom yesterday and DH told me to stop, since that is something he feels competent in helping me with. Great! The whole day went by and he didn't do it. So I started doing it and he accuses me of nesting. No, you have just peed on the seat far too many times and I refuse to live in filth. Rawr.
