Cut out m/s before birth of #3?

Both my kids were mspi and I'm due with my third next month. Would you cut out m/s before birth? My main concern would be not knowing if she actually was mspi if I'm already clear of them. Not to mention the diet is no fun and I'd hate to be on it if I don't really need to be on it. Wdyt? Tia!

  • I'm curious what others have done as well.  I'm 35 weeks with #2 and went back on the diet last week (DS came at 36w).  Life was just so miserable with DS 1 while we were figuring it all out and I kept missing hidden soy/dairy that I want to start out prepared this time.  I'll probably stick with it until baby is 2-3 months and then trial something.

  • I am due at the end of May and I have decided to eliminate it now. I agree the diet is no fun, but it's a lot easier to get used to it now before trying to get used to it again & dealing with a newborn. Plus, I don't want to wait and have to deal with clearing my milk again.

Depends on the dr- they have different views. My allergist told me not to avoid it during pregnancy, but to cut it out the last 3-4 weeks before my due date. I've got to be honest, being pregnant and not having the baby in front of me, it was way harder to stick to the diet and I cheated a lot. Fortunately, because I recognized the symptoms right away this time I was able to take action a lot faster and didn't have to go through months of torture with a screaming, miserable baby.
