Does your LO sleep longer in certain places?

My LO sleeps 6 hours if we are on the couch together sleeping. Discovered this when he was sick and I wanted to sleep right next to him during the night. So I know he's capable of these long sleeps. In his bassinet we get 3-4 hours! I don't understand the extreme difference. All I know is this couch kills my back and I'm desperate for another 6 hour stretch! Anyone else notice longer stretches from LO when your in a new spot?

  • Sloan sleeps longest in her crib
  • This just started this week (8 wks) but he doesn't want to sleep anywhere but on me! I don't know if it's related to his wonder weeks growth spurt but I feel like we have regressed in that dept. I've tried putting him down twice in his crib today and he wakes back up even after I've rocked him 30 min. Even his swing he cries at. Hoping he goes back to normal this next week.
  • Mine sleeps maybe 1-2 hrs in the crib, ~3 hrs next to me in bed, and >6 hours if sleeping on my chest in bed. She likes to be snugly and close, and I secretly love having her with me every night :)
  • She'll sleep 6-7 hours at night in her swing!I think we've had as many as 4 hours in the pnp or in the sling.

  • The most I've gotten is 4 hours in the bassinet at night.  Naps during the day are also longest in the bassinet.  Always swaddled.
  • In the car seat while we are out & about. Maverick takes 30-45 minute naps at home but 2 to 4 hour naps when he's in his car seat or stroller.
  • I'm so jealous of everyone getting more than three hour stretches :( I got a five hour stretch once and it seems to be getting worse. With DS turning 9 weeks tomorrow I was really expecting some progress in the sleep department.

We've been bedsharing and I'm trying to transition to his crib, but I think that's just resulting in a chronically overtired baby who now sleeps nowhere well.

The swing for sure. The longest ever was 6 hrs though in the RnP. The crib is where she sleeps the least. One time I got 2-3 hrs in the crib, other than that it is always 30 mins at the most and it drives me insane. I'm so worried she will always want to be rocked to stay asleep by constantly sleeping in the swing.

If we side-lay while nursing and he falls asleep he can sleep 4-5 hours. He sleeps really well in his bassinet too. Unfortunately, he is too tall for his bassinet and we're starting to transition to crib....which isn't going so well. Seems he wakes up within half an hour of being put in his crib.
