Brachial Plexus

My three week old was born with a brachial plexus injury in her left arm.  In addition to our pediatrician, she has seen an orthopedic specialist and has also begun physical therapy.  

Does anyone else's LO have this injury?  What have your experiences been with physical therapy and recovery?

    I do not have a child with a brachial plexus injury, but I am a pediatric PT that has worked with many children with this injury.  Recovery varies significantly based on the extent of the injury.  I try to be very open with my families about what they can expect from therapy, but if you feel you therapist is not being up front, take a look at the goals/time frames that your PT has written in the treatment plan.  This will give you a good idea of where they are expecting your child to be in the next several months.  It is a great that you have already initiated therapy and I will pray for a full recovery for you little one!
