We are going out next Saturday and I was just thinking about the boob comfort. I'm considering pumping or nursing at my in-laws right before we leave and putting my dress on there (we're going to a gala). That should give me a few hours without getting engorged.

Edit: I'll also nurse as soon as we get back to their house, not going to wait to get home.

  • Hubs and I went out last night to see a musical (so we were gone for about 4 hours) I nursed before I left and when I got back and I was fine.

  • Sorry ladies I was typing at red lights AND hit send too quickly. I was by myself running errand in hour window I had. It was still stupid to text at red lights and drive. Sorry my initial message was all over the place. I would definetly nurse baby if she is up when I get home if not pump I guess. Thanks for input.
  • Punctuation is your friend.

Andplusalso, don't text and drive. Was this question worth risking your life over?

This. Holy crap. Is this such a pressing issue you would risk your life and others? JFC. Don't be stupid.

  • I haven't gone out with baby by myself yet .Hubby and I are sharing car for the moment .I don't text and drive it was at a red light I know it is just as bad. I wouldn't do that with baby and I didn't do it pregnant. It was dumb I know I just wanted to ask a question before I forgot. I was just thinking ahead for next weekend while on my way to target. Thanks again

I would pump/nurse right before leaving, wear nursing pads in your bra to prevent leaks while there and nurse/pump as soon as you get home. If you get uncomfortable while there just hand express a bit to relieve pressure. Or if you have a pump that is manual or has a car adaptor you could pump in the car so you weren't wasting milk. If you aren't used to going 5 hours, you will prob get a bit uncomfortable but it really is impossible to know how much discomfort you will have since everyone is different.
