Good news for hard week...

Thank you in advance for letting me vent! 
Mon./Tues. I was really sick/vomiting. I called out from work on Mon. On Tues. I went in, but I was feeling so bad I had to break down and tell my direct supervisor that I was pregnant. I really wanted to wait but the ms was kicking my BUTT! For some reason it got really bad this week and I was thinking it should be getting ready to end (I'm 13 weeks). I also have a new head boss who is turning out to be a micro manager and gave a list of things he wanted done by c.o.b. Tues! I felt like crap but got it done. 
Wed. I started getting a sore throat, which I though was from the nausea and vomiting. By the time I got to Fri. I had a full out cold.
Thurs. I had a dental appointment. I needed x-rays but I told the hygienist I was prego they of course didn't do it. Anyway, at the end of my cleaning the dentist comes in, who I normally like, and the hygienist tells him I'm prego so no x-rays and the dentist goes "Congratulations....(waits a couple minutes then)...how old are you?" I thought he was joking so I was like you can't just ask women their age! He actually said "I can just look it up in your file"...really...WTF? The hygienist was still there so finally I said 36, he then asked if this was my first child. By this point I was annoyed and ready to go. Am I being cranky or was this rude?
So, today, Fri. I am sick. I am sneezing, sore throat, headache, runny and congested nose *sigh. But on the bright side, I had my monthly check-up today and although we didn't get to see baby, we got to hear the heartbeat again and it's beating strong and the doc found it easily....so reassuring! My DH was like can tell people now, lol, and I finally said yes :-)

Hearing my LO heartbeat was the bright spot in this crap week! Thanks again for the vent...you ladies are the best!

    Ughhh sorry you had to deal with ridiculous rude people... I'm 36 too and even though this is my 2nd I would be ready to slap anyone who made a stupid comment about my age.... Hope your cold goes away soon. At least you know what was making your ms worse!

    I hope you feel better soon! Hearing or seeing the baby is always a nice way to end a tough week.

    So glad you got something good out of this week. People just think your in your late thirties you might as well crawl in a whole and forf et about kids. So rude but you handled it well.
