head bands

How does everyone feel about head bands? I love then and think they are adorable. My dh hates them and thinks it's child abuse to use them. He calls them brain squeezers and claims I let her IQ every time I put one on. He legitimately gets mad at me when I put them on her

  • I have two boys, but am definitely not the type that would use one if we had a girl.  I'd be all over cute dresses and awesome cloth diapers to make a girl look uuber girly that I wouldn't want to use a head band.

  • I like them, but DD pulls them down and cries when they cover her eyes.  Therefore, I don't have them on when she is in the car seat and then I usually forget to put them on her when I take her out of the car seat.  Pretty much I only remember to put them on her when I am going to take her picture.
  • I bought tons of hats for DD and we were given some headbands before she was born. I loved it all and she hated it all. Now she plays with her hair accessories, but its a battle to put her hair up in the morning.

  • I said I'd never put one on her but now I love them! AW of my kids Thundering Up for OKC.

  • Love them!! This is currently my fave style because it is super soft!

  • Yep I loved putting them on my dd! I think they are adorable! She kept them on until her hair got too long and she needed a pony to keep it out of her face.

Here are a few of my fav pics!

We love them. Also not a fan of the huge ones that take over. 2nd pic is the biggest and was only worn for Easter.

I like them but I lean towards smaller ones. I bought DD a pack of Carter's ones from target for Easter and they are one size and DD has a small head and they are so tight! I'm going to see if I can stretch them out or something so it's not a complete waste. But look how cute!

And I always put a hat on her when we go anywhere so she has lots of cute hats that she wears to match outfits instead of headbands. It's too darn cold here to not have a hat on!

  • We've worn them on DD a few times but like @km_md‌ said our D always has a hat on when we go out. As the weather warms up I plan to try more headbands but not the huge ones.
  • Love them. I need to get more of a variety of colors though. The one below was a new addition today.

  • I love them. Her father hates them. When we did our newborn pictures he dressed her by his New England patriots helmet without one. It's the best picture but she looks like a boy! This flower one is our birthday party headband- we send a picture with a wish to the birthday person. Here are a few of my favorites. The purple one is just funny. She only wears them for special times like holidays parties or meeting new people. I want her to like them and not be bothered by them.
  • As long as they are not like these! I think these are creepy!! (FYI the pony tails are fake hair)
  • I love them! DD has one to match every outfit she wears. I am also not a fan of the ones "the size of a dinner plate". I make my own though so I custom size them so they fit but are not too tight.

I do think they look cute (although not a huge fan of the massive dinner plate size flowers - I like proportional ones). The only time I've put one on DD was when we were at MIL's house for a BBQ/meet the baby party. She had given us a bunch of headbands so I used one, but took it off a couple hours into the party. When I wear a headband, halfway through the day it starts to get uncomfortable and give me a headache, so I can't help but worry that it probably feels similar to DD when I put one on her.
  • FYI, some of them that come with the big flowers, I can wear comfortably (DD1 made me try 1 day).

I think they are great- if we could find them. DD1 has taken them for playing, and hid them all over the place. So, I can't find everything. I would love to get some onto DD2!

  • I like them a lot. I don't use the dinner plate ones either but like @MrsGraham06 said, I usually make sure it can fit on my head before I put it on hers, now. I think of DD as a little person because she is. She has preferences and little quirks. Headbands (and sunglasses, hats, etc) make her look like more of a little person, IMO.
