NBR: Work place sexual harassment

This is about my sister; I want to say upfront I think she's over reacting and she can be a story teller. Oh and this might get long! Sorry.

Alright, so, she works in fast food, at a store one of my good friends uncle owns. She found out he had cheated on his wife a few years back with an employee. Since then she's said he's made comments and done stuff that makes her feel uncomfortable ie. She spilled water on her chest and he said "good thing you have something to catch that," she was doing dishes and the sink is in a pretty tight place, you have to go past it to get cleaning supplies, which he did and past her a couple times and that made her feel uncomfortable(he never touched her or said anything), she requested next Saturday off and he responded "how much money you got? Cause it's going to cost you.

He's a smart ass. Anyone that knows him, knows he bullshits all the time.

IMO none of that was sexual and she's just trying to start things.

Am I reading the situation wrong?

Eta: She's made a reason to quit every job she's ever had and it usually consists of a boss harassing her some way, shape, or form. (I thought I said that before, sorry.)

  • Regardless of any legal action, I would be there for her with moral support because she feels uncomfortable. If she wants to pursue it, she should speak to the appropriate person (not sure if there's a corporate avenue if it's a franchise).
  • It's pretty clear that he was making comments about her body when she spilled water. That's absolutely inappropriate, especially for a boss. Legally, there's nothing she can (or really should) do about it, but I absolutely get how that comment could make her feel uncomfortable. If I had an employer say that to me, I would absolutely call him on it.
As for the other things, unless he was rubbing against he when passing by, it doesn't sound at all sexual.
If she's uncomfortable around him, she should look for another job.
  • IMO it seems like she sees an opening and is looking for a payoff when she quits.
  • The shirt part is weird but the day off comment seems like a harmless joke.
