Baby Shower Themes

Happy Saturday ladies! For all of the mothers that are expecting a boy or that already have boys..I would like to pick your brains :-? I am a FTM, and would like help on baby shower themes for my baby boy Jackson, the shower will be in September. I have searched on etsy and google and only see themes like...rubber ducks, sailor, jungle, and elephants. Any ideas or suggestions or what have you seen before?

Check out pinterest. They should be some other ideas there. I plan on the hostesses of my shower picking the theme so I haven't thought about it. Keep us posted with what you come up with!

My shower theme was dinosaurs! Very cute dinosaurs. ;) I'll go take a picture of the cute stuffed dino that was on top of my diaper cake.

The friend who hosted my shower is an amazing event planner. She did a wonderful job designing our invitations (seriously, who gets free custom invitations?!), and decorating for the party. There were blue dinosaur footprints leading down the sidewalk up to her front door (she hosted in her home), blue, green, orange, and yellow streamers and balloons all around for decor, and little stuffed dinosaurs everywhere. It was really cute!

  • I love nautical themes for boys.

Surfs Up as a theme can be really fun, and bow ties.
  • I have also seen really cute cowboy baby showers, astronaut/space, prince or frog prince, and apple (apple of my eye) themes too!

  • Mine was "baby bird" themed. Favors were little painted birdhouses. Our nursery is also decorated in a neutral woodland theme with birds.
My cousin had a John Deere tractor one that was cute, and I've been to a train one.

  • This one's gender neutral but I'm loving the "about to Pop" theme. Popcorn, blow pops, etc. There's a
bunch of ideas on Pinterest that my sister/ shower hostess has been emailing me.
  • I like a woodland/ camping theme. There's cute stuff on Pinterest!

How cute is that! Your favors sound really cool. Do you have pictures of your nursery @IrishHoney123‌ ?

My shower for DS was children book themed... everyone brought their favorite book and we had cute book-themed décor and food.  It was adorable and he ended up with quite the library :)

I really love this theme. I'm looking at books now for my baby's library.

  • A friend of mine did a "cookies and milk" theme for her sister's baby boy shower. It was so cute (and delicious). She had cut out cookies with her vinyl cutter and placed them all over and created a blue/brown/white scrap fabric banner that went on the wall and tables and of course had multiple kinds of home made cookies and 2 large glass containers of milk and ice water. It was a really well thought out shower and completely outside the box of what showers normally are. Good luck with your shower!

Mine was rubber duckies since I love them.  Are you doing a theme for your nursery?  It's always cute to do that.

  • I threw a fall shower for my friend having a boy that was a "you are the apple of my eye" theme so everything was apple themed.

  • What about sports or transportation themes

  • I feel like everyone does the baseball theme! And I'm not really much of a sports fan myself! I thinking I'm leaning towards a prince or rubber duck theme. @Sockgnome78‌
  • We did "oh the places you'll go" for my DS' shower. Didn't go crazy on the Dr. Seuss theme though. Loved it. I thought it turned out great!!

I am doing an Alice in Wonderland inspired tea party in a garden with croquet. I like this color scheme because it is gender neutral and pretty!

  • With my first my theme was just a fall theme (November baby) I just wasn't into all of the sports or baby animals decorations. My mom did aqua tablecloths, carved pumpkin center pieces with sunflowers and mums inside them. Calll me boring...lol but it was actually very pretty and I was really happy with it. Oh and my cake had little fondant leaves and read "Falling in love...with baby Kaden" with my ultrasound pic.
  • I really want to do a pumpkin theme. I'm obsessed with pumpkins now that we're having a baby in October. I saw cute ideas on pinterest. I thought the invitations could say something about celebrating our little pumpkin. My friend and I started joking about having a green giant theme and putting the invitations on vegetable cans that said peas join us.

We got married in October. We got some of those foam lumiere pumpkins and carved our monogram for decoration. I like the white ones more than the orange ones. Just a thought. Michaels started to sell them closer to September.

  • @theotherjacobsons I had an Alice themed wedding shower....love it!  If I were having a girl, I probably would go with Alice again because everyone knows how much I looooove Alice in Wonderland and particularly, the pig baby illustration (it's been the sticker on my car for years)

I think a Peter Pan or Wind in the Willows theme would be really cute, too.

  • My friend's boy shower was woodland theme - with little foxes as cupcake toppers, and we made her a cute rabbit/fox/Bambi quilt. The colours were earthy colours & sky blue.

I'm team green so will have a garden party this summer - my sister is hosting. Not sure on the theme, I an letting her decide. Love the book theme! And @TheOtherJacobsons‌ --yours is so gorgeous!
