Superstitious much?

I was watching the little couple, my mother in law comes in and tells me I shouldn't watch that or it'll mark my baby. I'm not the superstitious type. What about you guys? What are some of the ones you've heard?

I'm not sure if that's superstition or just plain stupidity. :P

ETA: This is a bit different, but I remember hearing while pregnant with DS that I shouldn't raise my hands above my head or the cord would wrap around his neck.

The cord wrapped around. That I'd baby doing it. Or so I think.

I don't have any supersitions. My mom has told me to not do things like painting a shed or take too much medicine. To which I think I am adult and will paint outside very well ventilated and the meds that I take are on the okay list and I am taking them as directed.

WTF does that even mean other than your MIL is possibly a bigot?

  • A lot of cultures and religions are extremely superstitious about pregnancy and newborns. My own in laws won't even talk about my pregnancy, just about my "health". We may not understand it or think it is "stupid" but this is how they were raised and it is what it is.

BFP #2: After multiple failed rounds of Clomid, Femara, Injectables, and 2 IUIs, we are cautiously expecting twins(!!) on 10/15/14 thanks to IVF #1.

  • My friend was freaking out at her baby shower because she had cut her hair early in pregnancy, before finding out. She had always been told that if you cut your hair your child will have bad eyesight. More you cut, the worse it will be.

I sure hope this isn't true...I was planning on chopping about 8 inches off mine in about a month or so.

  • I heard one the other day, I'm also a cosmetologist..the little lady in the shop said If someone pregnant does your hair you have to let them do it their entire pregnancy or your hair will fall out....
  • Little couple is fantastic. It contributes to helping me remain calm through this pregnancy, which is the most important thing. I don't believe that an amazing TLC show :) will mess with the baby. Though it's scary when people say those things!

  • If I heard or believed these things I would go insane! I have enough craziness with hormones and FTM stress all on my own! Haha
