I enjoy an occasional cocktail or two, but when we are in baby mode, I don't drink. I will only have one or two when I am on my period. What do you do about TTC & drinking?
In the past I've lived "normally" (eating and drinking whatever I want) before I peed on the stick. Since I found out about my low AMH I've cut back on my drinking and caffeine intake. I still enjoy a glass of wine or two every now and then but I try not to during the 2WW.
IVF #1, Stimmed for 12 days, ER 8/22/14, 9 retrieved, 7M, 7F!! Freeze all due to fluid in uterus.
FET end of October 2014 cancelled due to fluid in uterus due to possible c-scar defect
Surgery scheduled 12/12/14 to fix possible isthmocele
3/26/15 transferred one 8 cell grade 4 embryo and one 6 cell grade 3 embryo = slow rising betas for 2+ weeks = ectopic MTX shot 4/29/15
Repeat c-scar surgery June 2015
2nd and last IVF cycle August 2015, stimmed for 12 days, 2 egg retrieved, both mature and both fertilized. Transferred both 8-cell embryos on Day 3, beta 9/5/15 = BFFN
First time around I cut out everything for two years while we tried for G. The cycle I got KU was the one exception because it's was my sister in- laws 21st birthday and we took her out a week later I had my IUI. So this time around I am somewhere in the middle, where I drink a glass of wine most nights in the beginning of my cycle and then cut back to special occasion drinking in the TWW.
TTC#1 May 2009- July 2010 on our own with no luck
Started with RE in August 2010, dx with unexplained IF and then finally our 3rd IUI cycle using Follistim and Trigger resulted in our wonderful little man. Born 12/2/11
TTC#2 Never really prevented, but were careful early on as Dr. reccomended
Surprise BFP 12/16/13, started progesterone immediately as first numbers came back low, but betas were good. Progesterone wasnt enough. Natural MC 12/24/13.
i am probably a terrible example of good behavior during the TWW. i am a pretty big drinker -- not like crazy out of control but i do like to drink. during the TWW i avoid hard stuff and stick to wine. i don't want to give it up completely since it keeps me sane and gives me something to look forward to. i just don't go crazy during those 2 weeks. when i had DD i had no idea i was pregnant for a good 3 weeks and i don't think any harm was done.
I've been in the drink til it's pink camp. But with what's going on right now, and starting treatment I don't know what I'll do. When TTC #1 I didn't drink in the 2ww
I don't drink either way. I try to minimize caffein. Although, it's been about five years since I wasn't either ttc, pregnant or nursing, so its' hard to say what's normal for me.

Planning medicated cycle end of summer. FX I get KU before then!!!
Here's my 2 cents. I was a drink till its pink girl. I found out late with DS because we were told we couldn't have kids and he's ok so I didn't see a problem there. Then I've read that unless you are going on major benders minor amounts of alcohol don't affect fertility. But....
I stopped drinking and I will say I have tolerated my meds much better. I don't sleep well on clomid and the trigger. I also don't sleep well when I drink so the two combined were awful. There are other examples like that but bottom line I feel better (not great) on all the fertility meds minus alcohol. Just another perspective to think about.
I'm having my last big drinking night tonight before FET in 43 days. Just not worth it to me- but my birth mother was an alchohalic and drank with all her pregnancies but me (I made her too sick to drink) and my brothers all had issues- from cognitive delays, learning disabilities and and mental retardation. So I'm overly cautious. In another life I know I'd be ok drinking until O.

I have a few drinks a week and I will continue to do so. I don't think worrying about drinking is worth adding to my stress (or some people it might be worthy of some thought, it just isn't for me) when I have so many other things to worry about.

I don't drink during 2WW. I save all my alcohol consumption for CD1/BFN day. Speaking of which, it's just about time to break out that bottle of rum again.

I am not a big drinker...don't even drink on a weekly basis, but TTC does not change my feelings on any given night. I have actually heard having a glass of red wine a night during the TWW can improve blood flow in the uterus.
Xander, Hayden & Lily 5 1/2 and Jericho 3 My Blog!
I don't drink wine...I'm all about the hard liquor so I was avoiding other than special occasions. I'm not a big drinker anyhow. But my weakness is summer frozen drinks! So I think I'll probably start to drink more regularly with all the summer parties coming up. Besides I've avoided for so long and it hasn't helped so I figure what the heck, live life.
