After having my first child prematurely, my doctor has recommended weekly progesterone shots for weeks 18-36 during my second pregnancy as an attempt to avoid a repeat performance. I am beginning them on Monday. I have the option of getting them in office (my insurance company already shipped me the rx, as well as supplies for injections) or having my husband do them at home. As far as I understand, where the injection site is makes it very difficult to self administer. Does anyone have experience/advice for choosing one over the other (nurse vs. husband that is). The doctor's office is 10 minutes from my office, so 20 minutes round trip, weekly. Not a huge deal, but enough to give pause for thought.
Thanks in advance for any advice (or any head's up/food for thought re: the shots)
Re: Progesterone Shots
Do you have to take off work to go to the doctor?
Does your husband feel comfortable giving you the injections?
I know we would have a co-pay and that while my husband wouldn't feel comfortable giving the shots, my mom would. So I would choose at home but that's me.

I was notorious for that.
DH did them and I even got to the point of doing some myself. My DH was always comfortable to do it though. My tips are to warm the oil (I tucked it under a boob for awhile lol), dart that needle in FAST and HARD, and rub the site after the injection. The anticipation is way worse than the actual shot.
Good luck
