What are your weekend plans?

I am going to work on the 4 seasons room and cook dinner for my dads birthday.

We have a really booked month.

Tomorrow we are going to a communion party. It's for my best friend'd daughter, and they are sort of doing something funny for it-- it's Kentucky Derby themed. My friend requested that all of the ladies wear hats and the men bow ties (a la the actual Kentucky Derby.)

It sounds a little off to me-- I am not religious at all -- but the Kentucky Derby doesn't seem to "go" with a first holy communion? I mean-- whatever-- I am going to get all dressed up like Vivian from Pretty Woman so IDGAF. And we have an adorable hat for Josie.

Sunday I have another family party-- the Bat Mitzvah. It's a bit of a ride from where we are (it's in Staten Island if anyone is familiar with NY boros) but we are totally getting out of the 3 hour temple service because there is no way in hell that DD can sit through it. So we are only going to the party part.

We are leaving for Florida in 3 hours! This is our first family vacation. I think DS is going to have a blast... it is an 18 hour drive though so I am praying he doesn't scream and cry the whole way. It will be nice to get to Orlando and sit by the pool with a nice tropical drink.

I thought so too! I mean-- isn't the theme of a communion party-- communion?

No she's going all out though. Mint Juleps for the adults, My Little Pony centerpieces for the kids tables.

They are weird, but fun.

We are staying until next Saturday...possibly Sunday.

We lived there for a very brief while-- before my mom and SF were married. I am orig from Brooklyn and now I am an LI girl.

I have a crap ton of family in Staten Island.

I'm originally from Jersey. Lived there for 18 years, moved to Idaho for 4 and now live in Staten Island. My SO is from here.

FYI now every time i read your guy's responses i am going to read them with the Brooklyn or Staten island accent.
