Working Moms

FFFC

Post them here if you have them!

DH has been getting under my skin this week.  Our anniversary is tomorrow so we are going out to dinner.  The truth is I would rather go get a pedicure and shop by myself, that sounds much more enjoyable at this moment in time.

Re: FFFC

  • I have been having a lot of after hours work commitments (dinners, etc) lately.  I have big conference I'm leading next Monday and Tuesday for which I will not be home (staying in conference hotel).  I feel a little bad that I'm choosing to go out with the girls tonight instead of spending time with my family....  but not that bad :)

  • I brought a piece of quiche for lunch. It's not yet 10:00 and I already ate it.
DS born 8/8/09 and DD born 6/12/12.

@PrivacyWanted - I think your son looks EXACTLY like you and your daughter looks more like your husband.  Your MIL is out of her mind.  My in-laws tend to comment a lot about who my kids look like on their side.  Like you, I think they are beautiful no matter who they look like, but they definitely favor my side :)
  • If you were to ask my inlaws, I had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of my son based upon the fact that all of his physical traits are from their side and his personality is there's too. Perfect recent example, my mother in law commented that my son had dark hair just like her dad did...ummmm hello, how about the thick, dark hair that I have had my whole life????? Impossible that I would have passed that gene on, of course it's from his freaking great grandfather....ugh.....
  • It used to drive me crazy when dd was a baby, all of DHs family insisted she looked just like DHs sister. I love it that both kids are obviously little mini-me's now. Blonde curly hair and dark brown eyes. (Granted my hairs no longer blonde, it got darker as I got older). I'll have to scan a picture of me as a kid, so I can show you guys how similar dd is.

DH and I used to work at the same company. DH still works there and we are attending a company sponsored picnic this afternoon. It's like a big carnival. I was really looking forward to this event so that I could see some old co-workers and just hang out with DH and DS. Well DH invited his sister who I do not get along with and she agreed to attend as well. So now I'm not looking forward to it as much as I was before. :(

I cried in the hospital when people kept commenting that she "looks just like daddy" "has daddy's ears" etc.  I wanted people to tell me that MY baby looked just like ME.  She's a good mix of us now but I was super emotional in the hospital.
OMG, this was me exactly!!! I blame my post partum hormones.

He didn't actually ask me, just said that he was planning to invite his family (three siblings with their own families and parents) and I didn't object. Mainly because I didn't think she would come and also because I didn't want to cause an argument. My own fault and I just have to suck it up now. :(

I have heard that babies tend to look more like their fathers for the first few months of life. It is suppose to be a survival of the species thing, as Dad's were more likely to protect their kids if they thought they were their own. Thought it was interesting.

DD looked like my DH, but now she looks like me.
