High-Risk Pregnancy

Just got BFP

I got my first positive this morning and I'm freaking out!  This is preggo #2 for us (DS is 3) and I had him at 29 weeks due to early onset Pre-E/Hellp.  We have had our MFM picked out and in place for awhile and have a good team around us but I'm in total shock still!  I cannot believe we're trying this again with a total unknown outcome.  I'm sure a control freak it's so hard just going with the flow and having such a long way to go!

  • Thank you!  Did you get further with your second pregnancy than your first?  Did your doc do anything different?

  • Congratulations! I have no advice about the pre-e/HELLP but I wish you luck. It is fantastic that you already have a great support team, that is the most important thing.

I delivered my first baby at 22 weeks, and after that experience I decided to get a new dr and set up my providers before TTC again. I am so glad I did that. I know I would not be as far along now if I did not have a great MFM and OB.

Best wishes for you and the LO!!

Hello! I also had my first baby at 29 weeks due to pre-e/HELLP. I recently delivered my second baby at 40 weeks 2 days and had no issues with pre-e/HELLP at any point during the pregnancy. For my second pregnancy my MFM suggested taking a low-dose aspirin daily until 36 weeks, which I did. Other than that, I was just more closely monitored than I was for my first pregnancy (growth ultrasounds, more frequent BP/urine checks). I did buy a home blood pressure monitor for my own peace of mind in the third trimester, and I found that it did help with that control freak/"need to know" mentality. Good luck!

  • Thanks for the success stories!  That makes me much more relaxed about this pregnancy.
